Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by timmyup on Aug 17, 2023 20:55:54 GMT 1, So much hate for something that let’s face it, is better than anything Banksy has ever churned out. I think this is going to go down well. It’s easy on the eye, great colour scheme and to be honest better than most releases recently.
Mason might be a chancer but never the less he makes people talk and that’s what’s art about.

Indeed, the grasping nature of Mason Storm and Stowe Gallery, along with the level of deceit they're willing to stoop to, are truly to behold.
It isn't just a one‑off cash grab either.
These are recidivist con men, who regularly carry out this kind of deliberate, misleading nonsense. It's been going on for years.
And that in itself is noteworthy, i.e. the actual duration of their shenanigans.
Because pulling off such feats, repeatedly, over an extended period of time, requires that they show contempt towards their own collectors — to a degree that could be described as exceptional.
There’s something in me that believes him, and something in me that says utter rubbish. I suppose it’s worth a punt 🤷🏻♂️
This does raise a further point of interest:
Responsibility will of course be shared.
But which of the parties below are really the most pathetic and most at fault?
A. The integrity‑free impostor artist and his colluding gallery, who are relieving dupes of substantial sums of cash in exchange for snake oil.
B. The actual dupes, being the easily‑led collectors who have allowed themselves to fall into a costly tailspin of wishful thinking and self‑delusion.

Although no more than a finely-tuned hunch, given their prior form over the years, I suspect your option C is already covered by my option A.

Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by drip on Aug 17, 2023 22:59:47 GMT 1, I personally don't like the concept, the execution, the Tories, or the performance art element of this piece. Apart from that, good luck to those hoping to pick something up. I hope it brings you joy. I recommend buying art when it speaks to you though, personally, not when others speak on its behalf.

Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by ubl on Aug 17, 2023 23:56:55 GMT 1, I have a mint Toxic Beach (the red ballon 1/25 ed) up in the loft that I will happily sell at face value to anyone that thinks these are a good investment. £800 plus shipping. "Up in the loft" I'm imagining a beautiful loft apartment in New York, with central park views, along with a vintage BUGATTI that you had hoisted up onto the balcony, and the Mason Storm Toxic Beach is hung between possibly a couple of Andy Warhol and Keith Haring pieces? Am I right? 😁 You forgot the Coca Cola vase on the coffee table.

Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by drip on Aug 18, 2023 0:00:49 GMT 1, I've seen a few people now say things like, "Well, it sure got a reaction" or "It's got people talking - isn't that what art is about?" and other similar comments. And I kinda get that, I do, but...
I was in a place once, "Star Burger" I think it was called. A fast-food restaurant, if you can call such a place a restaurant. If you can't phone and reserve a table, I doubt it's a restaurant. Anyway, I was halfway through my burger, picking at it, wondering whether what I'd just found was a piece of hoof or toenail. I was hoping for hoof, when suddenly I was distracted from my culinary autopsy by raised voices coming from the counter.
It was a Friday night, late, lotta drunks around, I was one of them, so I figured maybe someone was just kicking off. At the counter, some bearded gentleman had been told something that had clearly upset him, he'd said something to the staff that upset them, and now they were all upset.
He was now being asked to leave, and so the bearded gentleman then told the manager where he could go. Threats back and forth, before finally the manager told someone, a character off-stage, to call the police.
It was a Friday night, late, we all knew that the police would take some time to get here. In the meantime, I went back to my burger and tried to go to my happy place, ignoring the standoff between the aggressive gentleman and the two petrified-looking staff members, nervously clutching a broom and a mop each.
Nobody knew what was going to happen, but we all figured that when the police finally did arrive, we would have a show. A bit of entertainment for the evening. Then the bearded gentleman started whistling. Just cheerfully whistling, like a maniac. He put his arms out, and started spinning theatrically, making sure we were all looking at him, whistling the whole time. Then he did something none of us were expecting.
He stopped. Stared at the manager, right in the eyes, then he pulled down his trousers, squatted, and started to sh*t.
I don't know if you've ever seen anyone sh*t before, like the actual shit come out of them, from start to finish, tip to tip, but I wouldn't wish it on my worst enema.
We all froze. None of us knew what to do. What could we do? As soon as his pants were down and he squatted, it was like seeing someone arming a bomb. Sure, we could maybe try and tackle him or something, but...
Ok, long story-short, a massive sh*t came out of this guy. A tremendous poo. I don't know why he'd come into this burger place on that particular night, but from the size of what came out of him, I sincerely doubt it was because he'd been short of food recently. And this thing was solid. It didn't splat or anything like that. This guy had been taking iron supplements or something. I swear I heard the floor tile crack.
The bearded pooping gentleman, if we can still call him a gentleman, then stood up, DID NOT pull his pants or trousers back up, and this guy is stood near my table by the way. And now there's sh*t on the floor, AND his wang is less than 4 feet from my food.
Anyway, this guy then reached down, picked up his poo, started whistling again, and then just started tossing it up in the air, like a proud father with a toddler. Up and down, up and down, up and down. We knew the police had been called, so there was no point in calling them again, but it certainly felt like things had escalated and maybe we'd like someone else called.
This was years ago, before camera phones. If it happened today, it would be filmed from multiple angles and make both the news AND a tonne of money for someone. No, this wasn't being filmed, this was being burned straight into our own eyeballs. This was living in the moment.
Nobody knew what was happening, sure, a few had left, slipped out the door, but the rest of us were transfixed. Some might say terrified. There was a crazy man with a poo in his hands. Then in the air. Then in his hands again.
Suddenly and without warning he threw it, hitting the manager clean in the chest. I say clean, but it was not. It took a moment for the manager to register what had happened. The poo had actually bounced off his chest and had come to rest on the counter. A counter that in the coming week would not just need to be cleaned and bleached, but also removed, burned and the ground exorcised. That land would need a priest to bless it before any food could ever be served in there again.
This business, as an eating establishment, was ruined. It was over. No food place can come back from this. The last time I saw a food place go down like this was when the manager of a local ice cream eatery was found dead, a bag on his head, orange in his mouth, and willy still in hand, in the walk-in freezer after a latenight asphyxiwank went tragically wrong.
The manager knew that his life, the life he knew before, was over. Enraged, he came running from behind the counter and started pummelling this guy, who still very much had his wang out. Fists were flying, kicks, a loose p***s. One of the worst things I've ever seen. Some of the other customers tried to help the manager, well, wanted to help the manager, but the crazy guy had pooey hands and an unrestrained dick.
Anyway, those of that saw that, it caused a reaction in us. And you can be damn sure that it got people talking. Stirred debate. But that doesn't mean it was a good thing. Or that it was art, despite what the guy later tried to claim in court.
I know it's a bit of a symptom of the world we live in now, but reaction and chatter about something, doesn't necessarily mean it's good, or worthwhile, or worthy of the attention it's demanding. Sometimes it's just sh*t.
And I'm not getting at anyone, this is just my opinion, and you're entitled to a different opinion, wrong or not. And this isn't even my opinion on Mason or his art, this particular release, etc, it really isn't. Good luck to him and all artists, not jazz musicians, clearly, and sure, buy whatever art speaks to your soul. But I don't want my grandchildren to grow up in a world where attention, garnered through any means at all, is believed to somehow equate to validity.
I know, I know, I sound like a right party pooper.
Edit: Felt preachy, might delete later.

Edit: Felt preachy, might delete later. excellent. thank you for that laugh. you made my day. I'm going to pay more attention to the whistlers now.
I've seen a few people now say things like, "Well, it sure got a reaction" or "It's got people talking - isn't that what art is about?" and other similar comments. Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by Jules Leotard on Aug 18, 2023 17:14:29 GMT 1, I was in a place once, "Star Burger" I think it was called. A fast-food restaurant... I feel that "Star Burger - The Restaurant" didn't need to be shared. Some stories...they make us special. They're "Our" stories. Personal. Unique. We should not share those with other people. We should just let them bounce around inside our own heads. This, this was one of those.
You should enter this piece into a Best Worst Story competition.
It does leave the audience wondering, what happened when the police arrived on the scene.

Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by Acme Thunderer on Aug 31, 2023 11:53:42 GMT 1, This release should see the end of Mason Storm.
If anyone has ordered (or preordered) one of the prints with the intention of flipping, you might want to contact Stowe and ask for a refund as you will never sell this on the secondary market. If there is not enough demand for a group of monkeys’s/chimps @ £300 there won’t be any demand for above that. Get out while you can!
They were released today at 9am and I can still cart 1,000,000 copies.

Anyone who hasn't bought this yet clearly hasn't reflected on the parallels.
REFLECT ON THE PARALLELS GODDAMMIT!

I’m guessing this will sell out like every other Mason print. I think for £300, it’s a good buy for putting on your wall and long term. every time you comment, it’s hate. Maybe you shouldn’t work yourself up so much by going onto Stowes website and doing things like this. focus on things you actually like.

He does have a point though..Everything this masked fool produces is garbage !
This release should see the end of Mason Storm. Maybe, just maybe, people buy art because they like it and not just to flip it like some parasites. Mason Storm 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Who is Mason Storm?, by Acme Thunderer on Aug 31, 2023 13:47:41 GMT 1, This release should see the end of Mason Storm. If you like it, then genuinely bravo 👏 (but you will be in the minority). We all know that Masons work is bought by people to flip 🐬 and not to be admired 🖼️ every day (the earlier comments on this thread is a testament to that).
This release is not a good buy and it is not a good investment, which is why I was kind enough to warn flippers. I will not be responsible for hyping something up and I will try and look out for other members (even flippers).
I was interested that you used the word ‘parasite’ as this is exactly what Mason is and has been doing - by feeding off someone else’s reputation and success.
Stowe sent me an email (I found in my junk folder 🗑️), I clicked on the link to see how many was left 🧮 and it let me cart 1 million 🤑 (doesn’t that appear strange 🚨).
If it appears sold out later, it will have been ended early (and not sold out) as this will be the only way Mason can save face 🤬 on a failed release.
Don’t work yourself up Timmy, but enjoy your ten monkeys. 🙈🙊🙉🐒🐵🙈🙊🙉🐒🐵

I will enjoy it. I think he has some crazy fans. That shows on the earlier posts of this thread but completely get your point.
I don’t think 250 is a lot for him considering his last edition was 750 and sold out. I do think he has oversaturated his market though. It could have been a good thing. Maybe in a few years 🤷🏻♂️

They’ve not done this to the APs though (and not one AP has sold in the last three hours as still the same number left).

Don’t see why they would take it off of sale though. Makes no sense if there are prints available. Who knows these days. Everything is one big conspiracy 😂

They had not sold out, but they are trying to make it look like there is demand.
