Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by stylus on Sept 24, 2010 15:11:51 GMT 1, I think that's the one I bought. I convinced the guy to settle offline for below the starting bid (sorry jake).
I'm planning on getting it framed in the same way as the one posted here a while back, but just want to take it to Gaham Bignell to clean it up a little bit before I do.
I thought 2-3k sounded a bit high! But to me it's priceless. It looks really cool in the flesh.
I contacted Pest Control when I bought it, and they confirmed that the cover was a legit Banksy, but they won't issue CoA because it wasn't intended as a work of art - which makes sense.
For 400-500 quid, I think it's well worth it.
There was one of these on ebay about a year ago and it didn't sell when the starting bid was £1000 if i remember correctly. It was then reslisted with a starting bid of about £500, i was watching it with a view to bidding but the guy pulled the auction in the end and didn't reply to any of my messages. These are nice items and I would love to have one myself but i think they have to be viewed as a nice piece of memorabilia rather than a piece of art. Pest Control won't authenticate them (i asked before planning to bid on the one on ebay) which ultimately limits their value. If you were looking to sell i would suggest sticking it on ebay - with a starting bid of £1 if you're feeling brave (after all it looks like 2 of us here would happily bid £400+) or if you have a figure in mind stick it up there with a Buy It Now price, then if it sells it sells. Nice item, good luck with the sale.

Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by xmyart on Jun 26, 2011 10:49:02 GMT 1, Thats odd, i saw this the other day. When i looked it up what i found said this was the same situation as the Wrong War placards, i.e that he had provided the stencil but had nothing to do with spraying them.
Also if banksy only sprayed the first 100 then how would you know if its a banksy or just sprayed by someone from the label??
Hope they are numbered or someones getting a very very expensive white label!!!

Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by heavystylus on Jun 26, 2011 12:04:25 GMT 1, Hi there - after chatting with some people involved with the record, it seems that Banksy apparently sprayed the majority, but not all of the records. There were only ever 100 (100x white labels) of each release (blowpop 001 and 002), although I've personally never seen a Blowpop 002.
They are not numbered, and John Stapleton threw away the stencil years ago. The record will have some value primarily because it's one of his earliest pieces, but no-way near as much as if it had a COA. Anyway, thanks for looking
If anyone here can offer any additional info on this piece it would be helpful.

Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by Phat Spider on Jul 10, 2011 3:13:50 GMT 1, I've got one of these in my record stack somewhere - they're currently on their way from UK to Oz mind! Will be digging it out when it gets here - remember at the time I loved the tune - and thought the cover was pretty sweet too so when i shifted most of my vinyl (about 3000!) this one made the cut to stay!
Timebomb used to rock - they sent me loads of great stuff when i was dj'ing back in the day - Guy (Hyper) was the chap I knew there and he's still putting out some awesome tunes

Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by disclizard on Feb 17, 2012 19:30:20 GMT 1, Thinking of selling my copy. It has a bit of water damage on the back side, and is a bit rough around the edges (would frame well though). Figured I'd post here before taking it to eBay. I'm US based but have no problem selling to established members here overseas. Last copy I saw sell (about a year ago on ebay.co.uk - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250842242106 ) sold for around $1k USD (£620), but was probably in better condition than this one.
These don't come around too often, so I'd like to hear some reasonable offers on this piece. Thanks!

Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by disclizard on Feb 17, 2012 19:35:55 GMT 1, I hate the idea of parting with it, but I've been going through a rough patch and have to sell a lot of my collection. Being disabled and out of work is no fun. I'm too proud to go on disability and mooch off the general public. I've got three ruptured discs in my back -- between doctor bills, living expenses, and medication costs, I'm drowning.

Then you should find another doctor. Social Security disability is difficult to qualify for, and then does not give you much in the end. Was your injury work related? If so, then you should be eligible for workers' comp.

I really hope you dont leave this too late. I would hate to see you lose everything for the sake of saving the taxpayer a few dollars!!
In this instance the tax payer is there to save YOU.
You wouldnt decide not to call your insurance if you got burgled would you? Your taxes are in some way a form of insurance for you if you need it.

Banksy • Blowpop Records, Capoeira Twins , by disclizard on Feb 17, 2012 21:54:43 GMT 1, Good points all around... Thanks for the input on all counts. Regardless of whether or not I file for disability, I still need funds now, and plan to sell this Album. I've been offered £450 for the Capoeira Twins 4x3 Record/Banksy Blowpop Sleeve, but I'm gonna keep taking offers for the next couple days or so.

Reminds me of the episode of the Simpson's where Homers arms were stuck in two vending machines. They were going to cut off his arms and he said "they will grow back right?" Prob. had Homer in charge of your tests. They prob also spent more on setting up tests and processing forms than they ended up paying you.
In a civilized society we should take care of each other. Personally I would rather my government pay out to a few cheaters than pass over someone that was really in need. Too much effort is put into policing and not enough into helping.
And that concludes my rant for the day.

+1 Respect to you for honouring your original deal - I know first-hand the frustration of closing a deal only for the seller to have their head-turned by a bit more cash
