of course its relevant, its a documented price - wheres your evidence to support your claim other than Tim telling you so?

you make statements like this "The piece has risen around £1,000 a year for the past two years with the last one selling at the start of 2010 for around £2,600"

When they have never ever sold for that amount - i have known of a few to change hands between £100-200.

I fail to see why a recent sale price is not really relevant. Couldn't someone equally argue the sale that you are referring to is 'not really relevant'?

dude get a reality check they have never ever sold at the price you are quoting. Perhaps Tim was off his fucking nut when he wrote to you on Facewank, and either forgot to use decimals or added too many 0's

Jo, I appreciate your comments but as you can imagine, since finding out I owned this I have looked into this quite a bit so I am very sure of the approx worth of the item. However, one thing to hold my hands up to, I said £2,600 and I've just found Tim's email and it states £2,400 - so apologies for that. My bad. If your knowledge is based on anything other than Expresso Beans then great but believe me, I have been particularly interested in it's value as does Tim!

its not what i have just seen on ExpressoBeans - one on ebay sold around May 2008 for approx £400. They have never sold for anywhere near the amount you think. Also a couple of sales were made on here and WK.

So someone told Tim that one sold recently for £2400 - lets see the evidence to support this claim.

Very nice and rare bit of Banksy history. I also remember one selling a while back for circa £400. The buyer was at the time a member on here and got it framed up. What it's worth today is down to the seller and a buyer to decide

One did indeed sell two years ago for around £400 and at the end of the day I am only going on what I know from reliable sources.

There was one of these on ebay about a year ago and it didn't sell when the starting bid was £1000 if i remember correctly.

It was then reslisted with a starting bid of about £500, i was watching it with a view to bidding but the guy pulled the auction in the end and didn't reply to any of my messages.

These are nice items and I would love to have one myself but i think they have to be viewed as a nice piece of memorabilia rather than a piece of art. Pest Control won't authenticate them (i asked before planning to bid on the one on ebay) which ultimately limits their value.

If you were looking to sell i would suggest sticking it on ebay - with a starting bid of £1 if you're feeling brave (after all it looks like 2 of us here would happily bid £400+) or if you have a figure in mind stick it up there with a Buy It Now price, then if it sells it sells.
