Stop And Search for Sale, by reg on Sept 20, 2020 16:11:37 GMT 1, Stop and Search don't pop up often.
£100k would be what, an £80k hammer price at auction? After what's happened of late £100k seems a fair ask.

Stop And Search for Sale, by Dubman on Sept 20, 2020 17:00:43 GMT 1, Personally I think that's cheap considering current prices. But it's your call. Agree its too cheap considering whats been happening, if U/S Happy choppers can go for £63k and Sale Ends and VLH going for mid £53k / £70k this print which is rarer and doesn't come up often should fetch £120 -£150k IMO in todays market.
Its a peach of a piece - GLWTS fella (its a bargain)

To me this is the type of message that indicates a top dollar for this piece from a market perspective. Auctions can be great at indicating “market” direction but for most of us who have been around the market is what a seller is gets and usually it’s more than one or two indicators.
I suspect we will see a lot of people rethinking their pieces and understandingly.... if you can achieve far more than you ever thought in a faster timeline, then list it for sale.
The market is always what someone is willing to pay.
My own subjective take is we will see a lot more inventory privately available and as buyers start taking their time or not responding to prices, they will start going down. Once sellers feel they don’t Feel it’s right and prices will stabilize and then perhaps start to rise.
Definitely a sellers market right now.... that will change as more inventory starts to creep up.
For buyers, it’s tempting but I’ll share what an old friend shared with me
“Overpay for a nice picture, a picture you will enjoy....”

Huge increase on what banksy-value has it priced at. I know we havent seen one come up for a few months. I'm not questioning your valuation but thats a big jump. Keen to see one go to auction now Hope you are right !! Sadly not one in my collection though....another, if only....

Let's be honest banksy-value is done - for it to work each individual print would require its own algorithm. All prints jumped in value but some are going to be much more than others. I think £150k is a fair shout for this print- one thing you want with a Banksy print is his humour. And this is up there with his best in that respect.
Banksy Value is utterly brilliant but in times like these it's more a log of inflation than estimate of value. Looking back at a year of insanity rather than a useful tool to assess today's prices.

Stop And Search for Sale, by Spenie on Sept 20, 2020 23:30:53 GMT 1, Last one sold was £65,000 as far as I could see at Tate Ward, £100,000 doesn't seem a bad price without any fees, although the way prices are at the moment it's anyones guess.

I think him/her saying they will accept 100k is that , no ?
Or do you mean a (possibly ) rigged auction result ?
Shock horror

Either create your own thread or post in the same thread after the work is sold and say you also have one available for those who missed out.

Unless you think the OP is a moron, surely this will work itself out?
If a £150k print is advertised £50k under value, it will get a ton of offers. If so, OP goes back to them and says ‘this is what’s happened, what do you want to do?’ to each offer.
If it’s not overvalued, then that won’t happen. Either way, I’m not sure the need to weigh in on something like this, unless you think the OP is in some way a vulnerable adult

How can this be? Posterbob said it's worth £150k. Lol.
It's literally impossible to price these works right now. Like most things they are worth what someone is willing to pay. You would think that £100k was a very reasonable and fair price given the latest auction results and the hype and excitement (not to mention results) they generated. I'm quite suprised to see such a wonderful print still for sale in a climate so apparently thirsty. I guess buyers are being more cautious than recent auctions indicate?

Stop And Search for Sale, by reg on Oct 4, 2020 9:28:56 GMT 1, Are there many £100k trades via this forum? Happy to stand corrected but whilst many on here are collectors and enthusiasts there aren't that many with £100k in pockets waiting to be spent.
As for valuation. Suspect we'll get that from Tate Ward in a couple of weeks when one of these comes under the hammer. If that hammer price is south of £90k or so then maybe the asking price was too high.
