Mr Jago π¬π§ Duncan Jago β’ Graffiti Art β’ Art For Sale, by Art-el on Sept 11, 2008 7:56:55 GMT 1, Good luck with the show guys, take it steady and hopefully see you at Graffle draw Fridy night.
Will be out in force although attendance will be monster hangover permiting.
Dodge Cheers, the print is really nice. Fair play to Mr Jago & Stolenspace for keeping the price of the screen print (6 colour) at a very reasonable price of Β£75!

Mr Jago π¬π§ Duncan Jago β’ Graffiti Art β’ Art For Sale, by gerry on Sept 11, 2008 14:40:15 GMT 1, Nipped into SS earlier to grab some photos for the blog before it all kicks off, and can only say oh my gosh. He clearly has worked his arse off, and some of that stuff is utterly awesome.
Sure, I'm partial to the odd Jago picture anyway, so not going to claim to be an unbiased source i guess, but seriously, the stuff there is bloody lovely, best I've seen of his work to date.
The really surprising thing is it's all pretty reasonably priced too, given the whole 'it being a London gallery and you can't just barter with scrumpy' thing as well.
Well looking forward to tonight, and will blog some photos when safely back in the West Country.

Good to see the Artel posse too. Good show. Worth popping up to curtain road too if you are in the area to go see the charming baker show. Was rather packed there last night.

Mr Jago π¬π§ Duncan Jago β’ Graffiti Art β’ Art For Sale, by G-Man on Sept 12, 2008 12:20:24 GMT 1, Just popped down this morning
Duncan has been working really hard
Some really amazing peices at the gallery
Picked up a nice AP of 15 of the print, sorry to say but looks miles better IN THE FLESH (sic) than on the screen
Still some of the prints left if you call them great for Β£75
My fav peice was the lantern peice but I didn't have a spare couple of grand!
Really worth a look now the crowds aren't there you can enjoy without the rush!!

Mr Jago π¬π§ Duncan Jago β’ Graffiti Art β’ Art For Sale, by Art-el on Sept 12, 2008 16:29:57 GMT 1, Hangover is dicipating and the opening night done and dusted. As ever at Stolenspace it was a great show, the weather stayed kind and it was very busy with the gallery packed and a healthy number chilling outside.
It was great to see so many Bristol heads who turned out on mass to support one of Bristol's most respected artists.
Werd to those who we caught up with and apologies to those we missed.
As ever it was delight to wax lyrical with Mr Barbossa, a top man.

I have 2 Dale Grimshaw prints, Echo + Exorcism, and would possibly consider trading 1 of them for the Botanix print.
Cheers,

The screenprint is really growing on me, just might grab one. The only thing I was wondering is how similar the print is to the orginal painting? There seems to be a bit of difference on the site.
Any ideas/advice?

Mr Jago π¬π§ Duncan Jago β’ Graffiti Art β’ Art For Sale, by Art-el on Sept 14, 2008 10:36:34 GMT 1, Sorry people to cause confusion but as you've already sussed the website is not .co.uk it is www.stolenspace.com
Good judge Slammer that is titled 'Carbon Count' and is a huge personal fave (and also Jago's fave out of the paper pieces)
BMJT
The screen print was taken from a image of the original. All I would say that because the og is hand painted and is quite brushy/drippy, that to reproduce exactly would of been extremely costly and thus made the print a larger edition and higher retail price.
ALL things considered, and having spent a LONG time looking at both og & print, my opinion is that the Stolenspace printers have done an amazing job.
You will be Very hard pressed to find such a strong image, produced as a 6 colour screen print in a low edition by an artist of equivalent standing for the cracking price of Β£75 !?!?
Hugs & Jellya that's big props from two people who have bought and been admirer's of DJ's work for 4 or 5 years. I go along with your views that his work just keeps on improving.
Solo LA show is confirmed for 2008 which scarily isn't that far away!!
Peace out
