Ben Eine - Letter C - Matching Set - 2015 , by Born Again on May 14, 2020 11:11:02 GMT 1, To be fair, as a buyer I’d like to be alerted to a cheaper price if there were one. And, as a seller, I’d like to know if my prices were on or off. If all parties are ok to continue having known all the facts, then no dramas. Plus, giggles and stuff

Really depends on what peanut gallery snarky jollies are really.
If you think pointing out that something is available cheaper elsewhere is bad form on a FORUM then that’s up to you. You’ve been here long enough to know that your hot air ain’t going to make a jot of difference.
Thinking of offloading your Eine C’s too?

Thought his Circus alphabet with missing W his one good idea, generally his one piece that makes it into group shows. Regarding hot air, your Edit for humidity was just that. That was where your point went from helpful to lazy snark. Lazy.

And, as a seller, I’d like to know if my prices were on or off. If all parties are ok to continue having known all the facts, then no dramas. Plus, giggles and stuff True, but the constant who can snark first on sales threads is a bit yesterday’s meme, and against the spirit of this place. Which is why the core here has changed dramatically over the last 3-4 years. I prefer to think a buyer would be a bit more astute in their shopping knowledge, buying certain artists’ prints well after the fact generally not an impulse purchase. I also would think most sellers have an awareness of pricing, would not want to embarrass themselves and want to sell.
I guess what I’m saying is buyers and sellers should know their market. Threads with high prices tend to fall quickly to the sound of crickets.
And the constant snark is juvenile.

One man’s snark is another man’s light hearted comment.
Obviously lockdown is taking it’s toll on your sense of humour.
Edit. All these new expressions I’m learning today. Is that how people speak in your country’? Fascinating.

Edit. Boring, likes the sound of his own voice, always has an opinion and is devoid of a sense of humour, likes to harp on about the good old days.

Agreed re negativity.
On the flip side though I like that this forum still calls people out for flipping or overpricing and highlights correct prices for buyers/sellers. It’s tough to keep up with all sales prices at all times so I like the wealth of information in this place.
Anyway, we’ve derailed this poor blokes sales thread so let’s let him get back to offloading those eines

Ben Eine - Letter C - Matching Set - 2015 , by Winks on May 14, 2020 16:04:53 GMT 1, Hey guys, sorry - Time difference here. So I see people mentioning Vertical Gallery prints. Yes, I am aware of this, but probably their not very expert eye did not notice that the prints for $800 are unnumbered APs. There are about 9 APs per each letter (+some extra I think printed as request), that makes it 729 possible chances to match 3 letters of different colours. There is only 1 set with matching edition numbers (of course 150 in theory if they would have been sold all as set). So this makes it more rare than a set of APs. If you are good in using Google, Verso Gallery has 3 "E"s at $1530 (I think matching number?) I hope this explains the price. D.
Your not very expert eye didn’t notice that I said artist proof which I believe might be APs. Anyway, good luck with your sale

Ben Eine - Letter C - Matching Set - 2015 , by Winks on May 14, 2020 16:47:15 GMT 1, Sorry, removed the "not expert eye"... I just quickly read your reply to the post. I think it's natural and I think everyone can search the web for different prices - I do the same Therefore I don't think it's nice to publicly reply with "smart-ass" comments, implying that I have overblown the price, without doing a more detailed research and as a first reply. This can affect badly anybody's sale. If you are not happy of the price or don't like the item, just don't say anything. This is a sale post, not Facebook or Nextdoor. Have a great day. D.
Allow me to counter.
This is a forum, where members discuss and comment. EBay doesn’t have that facility. Members tend to shout if they think things are too high and of course too low.
By the way West Bank Gallery have 3 C’s numbered 109/125. At £200 each. londonwestbank.com/artists/ben-eine/

Ben Eine - Letter C - Matching Set - 2015 , by Winks on May 14, 2020 17:01:53 GMT 1, Thank you for checking on the prints cost. As you can see prices vary from $800 to $1530 depending by the gallery, location and many other factors. I believe my price is in line with the type of print, quality, year, location etc. As everything, prices can be adjusted in private agreements. Feel free to contact me if interested! D.
You’re welcome. Good luck with your sale

Members are allowed to sell but members are also allowed to comment on prices, etc. Agree it doesn’t need to be smart ass comments, but we are all big boys and girls so let’s not get offended if someone points out that a gallery is selling a set (AP or otherwise) for nearly 1/2 of what you’re asking. If either set is priced appropriately they will sell and if they’re not they won’t. Just my 2 cents. Carry on.
