haha sure, they sent the money for a print sold for over 10K to someone else, and then left it to me to resolve - getting the money back from incorrect person to them, so they could then send it to me. Admittedly it was to a family member who lives in another country but since I gave them my correct bank details 6 times you'd think they might get it right.  

That said it was sorted, and I will give them another go - I'll just make sure to send my bank details to them 7 times in future!

That sounds terrible...sorry to hear that. Did you get some kind of compensation or apology?

An apology of sorts but it was clear that the consigner was unhappy with the sale price

I would suggest all these comments relate to the existing Paddle8 operating model, rather than post-merger. Yes the merger has happened but changes to the model, the real changes that affect buyers and consignors, won't happen until later this year and next. The existing model has lots of issues that will hopefully be rectified post-merger, although I've heard from next year they're reverting more to a traditional model with live auctions and consignors having to send works in for cataloguing, framing etc

Fresh bad experience with Paddle8. In June I have won a Banksy unsigned piece, but in the description they claim full Pest Control. I have paid full amount in USD (I am European) but few weeks later nobody approach me for the delivery...So I found out that despite the description no Pest Control was provided by the seller. So asked the full amount refund which because of the rate Exchange was lower than the original amount!!!!!

I sold a print on the 9th. The buyer appears to have paid immediately, it was collected on the 12th and I'm currently waiting for payment from Paddle8. The user conditions say it could take up to 30 days to be paid. The transaction with the courier, Adam Crease, was quick and easy. I'll update this post once they've paid me so everyone else has an idea of how long the whole process takes.

They listed the same print during my last auction. They offered to cancel mine and relist 45 days down the line after waiting 60 days for it to go up to begin with.

They also hiked up all their buyers fees which pretty much after hammer and the 8% they take from you leaves little to no profit on most items.

At this point you would be better off selling items a little below market value and cutting out an additional 60-90 days for the same net.

I just received the bank transfer this morning, so from the date of collection it took two weeks to get paid. I'm quite pleased.

One thing I have noticed it that it's no longer possible to sort works by "recently added", thus I have to look through older works every time. I won't be doing that for long...

Right now I follow the Os Gemeos piece on paddle 8,
if I click the link from my list I get

"...we cannot find the page you are looking for.
It has either been moved, deleted, or no longer exists."

I'm wondering if this happens more often.

It's worst if buyers can not anymore find the pieces you wanna sell.

Just received payment for 2 pieces 2 weeks after they were picked up, happy about that.
Website has become very buggy though, if I click a link to an auction from an email they send me that auction page will never load for me. I'm not listing anything else there until the website is addressed, first things first guys.

Not a very good system when trying to sell and buyers can't find the piece...

I read this and though it was worth sharing. I'm not endorsing the story as true but I was thinking of consigning work with them. I'm now reconsidering. If anyone has further info please add it to this thread.

06 Auctionata Paddle8 may be experiencing financial difficulties, according to reports that the Berlin-based startup has failed to pay employees since December.

An email sent to staff and obtained by German business publication WirtschaftsWoche reportedly notes that healthcare and retirement benefits will not be not impacted. Through a spokesperson, the Berlin-based startup refused to comment “on such rumor and speculation,” instead pointing to what they labelled a “promising” new round of financing. Auctionata Paddle8 did confirm, however, that founder Georg Untersalmberger will leave the company at the end of next month to focus on other projects. In his farewell email, Untersalmberger reportedly referenced the company’s current difficulties but assured a promising outlook, without providing further detail. Auctionata merged with fellow online auction platform Paddle8 in May 2016. The company has been helmed by CEO Thomas Hesse since September, when Auctionata founder Alexander Zacke stepped down. These new reports come after major staff changes and layoffs at Paddle8 in May and months after an April audit of Auctionata found an alleged history of trade violations at the auction house, in which Zacke was said to have participated in Auctionata’s own sales. Auctionata Paddle8’s alleged financial troubles come roughly a week after Artspace laid off three-quarters of its staff.

I've got some pieces currently with them, they have been informative, helpful and really friendly when we've communicated. Nothing bad to say about them at all.

They have been professional with me also. I'm just concerned for buyers who've paid for work receiving it and vice versa in the event that the worst happens. Knowing who some of the backers are you'd like to think this won't happen but what protection do buyers and sellers really have?

My original post was merely to inform not to try to cast aspersions over their levels of service or results they achieve. If I remember correctly there is a 60 day period before consigners get paid. That fact alone if I'm correct makes me a little nervous. Hopefully more information will surface and the situation will be clearer. I too hope they are still here going forward. I think it's a decent platform.

maybe the Auctionata isn't working? Paddle8 seems extremely strong, I know they merged but maybe they are cutting their loses? Just can't see paddle8 going anywhere, but you might find something?
