anti bagger software, by ziggy on Mar 30, 2007 11:22:48 GMT 1, I think the anti-tout blurb is just POW's way of saying 'our system did not cope again'. The fact that loads of us had stuff in our baskets and some even input all there details but ended up getting nothing has little to do with anti-tout software. I got the same error messages that I've had with the other recent Banksy releases meaning the actually purchasing engine is just the same.

Im starting to wonder if this new system was stopping anyone ordering that has had a Banksy from POW before Maybe they want to only sell to new customers?

anti bagger software, by Dellboyy on Mar 30, 2007 11:33:55 GMT 1, From the looks of the error message i was getting one of the major problems was because the access database could not handle the number of read/write commands it was getting.
It's a pretty well known fact that access isnt any good for high bandwidth sites, it just dies!
They should splash out a couple of grand on a copy of sql server!
(rant over!)
... btw that would have nothing to do with any anti-touting system! It's just your basic too many hits for website crash!

At any rate, POW have far too much on their hands, what with counting their piles of money and not spending on servers

anti bagger software, by tom77 on Mar 30, 2007 17:22:26 GMT 1, maybe they should concentrate on improving the server and bandwidth instead of wasting money on a anti tout system. theres no way round touting, when theres a will theres a way. pow need to pull there heads out there arses, they knew half the world was awake at 3pm so clearly the site was going to take a hammering.. no thought went into the release what so ever. they should raffle them off so at least we can all sit back, some what relax.. and hope for the best.
its pathetic to think seetickets.com can handle 200,000 hits in ten minutes for reading tickets yet picturesofwalls shatters when a small fraction of that some. ok, seetickets is a much much bigger site but come... get a fucking grip pow

anti bagger software, by tadghostal on Mar 30, 2007 18:37:34 GMT 1, I've read so many complaints on this site and others about 'touters' or 'flippers' and it always amazes me that people think that a business should try to 'do something about it.' Now, POW claims that they're trying to do just that, and instead of accolades and folks saying "that's great they're trying to do something" its just more complaints.
Maybe people who collect art just like to have something to complain about. If its not one thing, it will certainly be another.
Personally, I admire the fact that POW is taking a vocal stance in at least SAYING they're trying to address the issue, whether they are 100% successful or not. At least they're listening to their fan-base, and are making adjustments. Good for them.

I'm all for it, sounds like a good idea, shame then that according to them many people didn't get what they wanted not because they were baggers/flippers but because of their so called software solution.

anti bagger software, by johnerotten on Mar 30, 2007 19:26:44 GMT 1, I bought a signed version and then ordered an unsigned not knowing i could not order more than one. now i am worried they will cancel both orders after reading this site. I emailed them explaining the situation. haven't heard back. i hope i don't get banned for life now from ordering or lose my order. I had no intention of selling. i will repost when i know what happened. it was an honest mistake and i emailed them explaining the situation. i recieved confirmation emails from both POW and their Credit card service. They charged my credit card already. now i'm waiting the dreadful email that tells me "cancelled both orders". Uggghhh. ANYONE HAVE ANY OPINIONS ON THIS?

I think there'll be a lot of sorting out for POW over the next week. I don't think the Morons saga is quite over yet. Despite all of the negative stuff on here, they're decent guys and gals. Let's just hope they see your email before they cancel the order - I'm guessing their inbox is pretty full of hate mail at present.

my opinion is that they will keep the payment on the signed (since it cost more), and refund you the unsigned.

I agree, i bet a few more go back on sale in the days or week to come

This is from the POW email.
Only ONE print per household. we will cancel any order for both a signed AND unsigned print from the same edition:

anti bagger software, by ABC on Mar 31, 2007 18:30:38 GMT 1, Thier Database was overwhelmed but Im led to believe that they do have the software that cancels orders for flippers for all of the POW prints and not just Banksys. Im bitter as I didnt get one and there seems to be a lot of new members who did and may have got 2!! Maybe the years of collecting Banksys is over for me as I cannot be bothered fighting the Baggers.

i thought u were allowed a sepia and an unsigned as they are a different series. not worth chancing it and, iuf u got a signed, sorta nice to give the unsigned to someone else

anti bagger software, by reados on Mar 31, 2007 20:43:54 GMT 1, it does read that way, one per household, you can't have a signed and unsigned from the same edition, the sepia is really a seperate edition from the other one.
a we bit confusing, maybe, but if you could afford it and were a serious collector you would want the normal one and a sepia one wouldn't you.
