after the initial disappointment this morn of the no new print announcement i got on with my day - just checked their website randomly a sec ago as i was on the comp again and saw the homepage had changed and there were new prints - just bagged a lovely lucy mclauchlan but missed out on insect... W T F ?!?!?

When I was 15 I didn't have the hundreds of pounds to buy art.

Today i connected to pow at just the right time to see the (new) print's come online.
I did not want another lucy print & am not too fussed with the dead rebel series by insect.
What i was amazed to see was the short amount of time of which they vanished from the site.I hope that the people who purchased these prints today wanted them.
I did not buy to sell on ebay either but as we all know that is where the vast majority will end up.
The quick buck brigade will always be there before you.

Very true Brut, Gone are the days of things hanging aroung for weeks, months and even years!! I cannot imagine for one minute these are for peoples walls, well peoples walls via ebay more like. People are starting to moan constantly about losing out on everything that gets released and Not just Banksy ones. In Aug/Sep it was all about Banksy prints being hard to get hold of now its about missing out on all becuase the money making chance was missed.
All IMO of course. Im sure I will moan like the rest when I miss a Banksy.

If everyone is buying them to sell from PoW, I want to know... who is buying them on ebay? Sure there are Bnaksy fans but is there a large enough fan base to support ebay an buying habbit for other PoW artists?

For example Faile. They are cool but, are they that well known that people need to track their stuff down online (as opposed to keepin an eye out on their own store). ?

It helps when nearly every auction on ebay comes with "free banksy photo" or by a "banksy stablemate" and screamed about in the auction listing.

Soon you won't be able to sell anything without including some kind of Banksy Bonus. The one that annoys me most is "NOT BANKSY". You would have thought that everything by default would be NOT BANKSY.

By putting Banksy it attracts all the people who like everything around Banksy - POW artists, Baldwin etc. I have often found things other than Banksy while looking for Banksy.

It's not dissimilar to the fact that everyone using the Banksy forum to discuss everything around Banksy. I agree it is slightly annoying, especially when someone lists a Hillman Imp with free Banksy flyer.

I really want to get my hands on a grin reaper or Have a nice day (posted a thread to that effect with no responses on here). So if one came up that wasn't £3k+ on ebay that I'd bid for it. I'd rather buy it from POW / direct from the artist's website, but as I don't have this as an option, it's either 'line someone's pocket on ebay' or 'pay even more and get one from a gallery'. What do you guys think?

I don't understand this post, everyone would like a cheap GR or HAND - everyone would like to buy it from artist direct or POW. The price of these have gone up cos demand has gone up. If you want one pay the market rate and don't moan about it.

if you are asking if one came up on ebay for less than the market value you would bid for it, so would most people thus raising the price to the near market value.

if you are saying whether you line the pockets or eBay or the galleries, unless you are willing to double i would suggest you buy one of eBay.

I'd simply take the lowest price I could. Many of the galleries also bought straight from POW and their prices are often higher. Yes, you end up lining somenone else's pockets but that's the price of coming to Banksy late. The Grin Reapers say on the POW site for months at £400.
