Anything new this week POW??? WC 26th February, by paradoxia on Feb 27, 2007 16:24:59 GMT 1, which to me equates to crap customer service - to be honest a monkey could sell Banksy prints and other popular artists due to the panic buying ensuing at the moment!

Anything new this week POW??? WC 26th February, by CR on Feb 27, 2007 16:30:23 GMT 1, yeah.
I think if eelus has parted company with POW then it could be to do with customer service issues such as multiple selling of Shat-ats at the ghetto to one person. He has always been a great guy to deal with, such as giving wotulookin-at's to those who over ordered shat-ats or chewbabrbers!
I think that POW have had a bit of a monopoly until now and may find that they have far more competition this year on in the future and unless they start respecting their customers a bit more - and by that i mean keeping them informed a bit more as i beleive that post sale they cant be faulted! - they will slowly start to lose some artists that believe that they need to keep the customer informed!

Anything new this week POW??? WC 26th February, by Tyler Durden on Feb 27, 2007 16:31:00 GMT 1, True true. Mostly in my basket will be loads of tins of beans and spaghetti, some panic buying of water and petrol, and a couple of Banksy's to look at whilst in me bunker. Perhaps in the next update POW will let you order snacks while you wait for the slightest hint of what's to be released, and more importantly... WhEn?!?

Much easier said than done - not easy at all - they need to wait for the artists to do what they're doing

Fair point, but with the size of the sofa in the POW office, they'd have to keep relisting things when they find the occasional 1 or 2 prints hanging around. I spose the point is that the new system is better than the old system but still has a lotta room for improvement. If blackratpress, lazinc and eelus' website help to hurry this along I won't be complaining.

Its true in general but the main interest here is the Banksy prints. And while ppl have various motives for the prints, I imagine that the artist has finished them. PoW did change their site which has improved the headache on their side of things no doubt but now you have us culture vultures waiting in the wings to pounce. Of course, part of this strategy may just be to let people get bored. I’m sure PoW are not short of cash.
However, at the end of the day it is no doubt a frustrating experience for the customer. Some sort of plan would be useful. Even if they simply said. We will release the prints. In the next few weeks and it will be a surprise.
We don’t need to know the plan, we just need ot know that there IS one!

Anything new this week POW??? WC 26th February, by corblimeylimey on Feb 27, 2007 16:53:30 GMT 1, I'm not too annoyed with POW for not giving out a date for Banksy releases just yet, but what I do dislike is vague information.
I think we'd all be happy if they made solid announcements about a week before an event, how hard can that be?

Anything new this week POW??? WC 26th February, by paradoxia on Feb 27, 2007 17:07:10 GMT 1, Agreed.... how hard is it to get their act together and say....
The release date for the next print is next Monday - 5th March at approximately 11.00am One per customer only
I understand with the Micallefs that there was no point releasing a date seeing as there were only a few available but anything over 100 prints should be given a date and time.
Also do POW not realise they are sitting on a cash pot of just under £100,000 per print.

Anything new this week POW??? WC 26th February, by absyrd on Feb 27, 2007 17:15:48 GMT 1, People want smooth transactions (no oversales, page errors), no site crashes, and enough prints to be available so they can get one. If POW gives a specific time and date then your chance of technical problems raises significantly, as does your "competititon" for a specific print.
Look at Obey. Fairey releases a print (or other item) every Tuesday at noon PST. Even with a decent ordering system and good site, people get oversold and crashed out all the time.
Just relax.

Thats because their systems are incapable of handling the traffic.... I would rather fail because of Technical problems and know everyone had a fair chance - rather than sitting in front of a pc all day every day, taking days of work on a whim, using internet at work when it's monitored on usage etc....

Come on, are you relaxed? I bet you're checking here and on the POW site loads of times a day and you're not the only one. I'd rather half an hour of chaos than weeks or even months of uncertainty.

From the Obey Site (PoW take note) Due to the recent rise in number of OBEY prints found on EBAY we are reducing the amount of prints per household/customer to 1 from here on out. If there is one thing that bothers us worse than lazy complaint emails is the EBAY market. We have tried our best to hold on to the 2 limit policy for our true collectors but it seems like a portion of the "collectors" buying our prints are EBAYing everything they purchase. Shepard and the rest of us are overwhelmed by the stories we hear about how much people are paying for prints on EBAY the same day as they are released on our site. With this new limit we hope to increase the chance of everyone getting an equal shot at a print on Tuesdays, despite the increase in overhead and work we ultimately will take on. Nonetheless, we hope this helps some of our true fans... But be forewarned that if we find out who these compulsive EBAYers are we will have no reservations in banning them from future OBEY purchases. Thanks for all those that have stuck it out these last couple of months! posted February 26, 2007
