London Art Fair, by Martin M on Jan 21, 2015 17:46:29 GMT 1, Big thanks to MartinM for sorting me out. Tickets arrived this morning. And immaculate handwriting on the envelope to boot. Cheers, mate. Appreciated. HB. Thanks HB, have a good night.
Last night was a good night, headache to prove it!
My faves of the night were these two;
Something old (1971) Patrick Heron, one of our greatest colourists and a big favourite of mine. 35K
and something new. A French artist called Pierre Francois Grimaldi

London Art Fair, by jusdeep on Jan 21, 2015 20:41:01 GMT 1, There were some good French galleries showing this year bringing some different artists to the show. Edgar Modern had some interesting outsider artists, but the majority of stands were the same as always. Same artists, a few with the same work, nothing inspiring or different that took my eye. Got bored very quickly and far too many people at the preview evening to make it a pleasurable night, so shot off early.

London Art Fair, by Deleted on Jan 23, 2015 21:16:42 GMT 1, Went yesterday, courtesy of Ink'd freebies.
A few interesting pieces, but as someone earlier posted - a bit underwhelmed.
Wall of over-priced Banksy's c/o Andipa.
Stock, Aitken and Waterman ( sorry, Pertwee, Anderson and Gold ) in a prime position pushing Connor Bros.
Art looking to be bought based on the house, rather than the art itself.

London Art Fair, by loother on Jan 23, 2015 21:56:46 GMT 1, There was a good Miss Bugs piece somewhere (resting against a wall, rather than hanging on one, when I was there earlier). Also Ink'd were selling the Eine E blocks (discussed elsewhere) discounted from £2,500 to a bargain £2,000 for the duration of the fair. They're still ridiculous.

London Art Fair, by rioja on Jan 26, 2015 15:57:29 GMT 1, Went Saturday and thought it was a great show.
Some of the Banksy prints on offer looked like they'd been hung in a wetroom - too much corrugation for me.
Thought this London reworking of Breugel's Tower of Babel by Emily Allchurch was bloody marvellous. Huge backlit box frame gave it the epic factor. Spot the Invader...

London Art Fair, by Hubble Bubble on Jan 26, 2015 17:26:00 GMT 1, I went on Friday (thanks to MartinM's tickets) and enjoyed to a certain extent. It was good to see the Banksys at Andipa - I thought the Soup Can quad looked great and I really liked Golf Sale. I'm a huge Hockney fan so it was great to see their small watercolour original ( £195,000).
Elsewhere I laughed at the audacity of The Connor Brothers setup, at the preposterous Eine cubes - even less attractive in real life than in photographs - and at the amount of garbage passing itself off as 'contemporary art'. I enjoyed visiting Jealous more than anything, where they had two great Dave White prints and several other pieces that I really liked the look of. I'd never seen Charming Baker pieces in person before and was surprised at how much I liked them.
Other than that - all a bit 'meh'…
cheers

London Art Fair, by Goooogle Male on Jan 19, 2016 14:06:02 GMT 1, I somehow have ended up with 2 VIP cards for this year's London Art Fair, so if anyone wants one of them they are welcome. It admits 2 people all week, as well as giving access to the collectors lounge, and various other peripheral events as well.
More info here: www.londonartfair.co.uk/vip-programme/vip-benefits (password LAF)
I'll be there at the PV from 5pm this eve so can easily pop out and give it to someone. Alternatively if you only want to go tomorrow / rest of week I can pop it in the post (Uk address) this afternoon.
First to reply/DM gets it!
