London Art Fair, by slowmo on Jan 18, 2007 23:11:37 GMT 1, Just come back from the London Art Fair. Very good stuff there. Had Leonard Street Gallery with If only you liked sex as much as shopping for ยฃ27,000. Seems like a steal to me (if you have that sort of cash) looks amazing in the flesh.
Also they had this guy, thought he was great, bought apocolypse wow, real nice print.

London Art Fair, by alvington89 on Jan 18, 2007 23:59:32 GMT 1, Dan baldwin is one of the Brighton 'school'. Big mates with Antony Micallef and Simon Dixon (I think IDan and Simon share a studio).
What with the DFace exhibition at the end of March and all the other emerging talent there, it seems like Brighton is becoming a bit of a magnet for the new art scene.

London Art Fair, by mido on Jan 19, 2007 0:18:09 GMT 1, It's not by Jimmy I'm afraid.
It's by STOT (or STOT21stCplanB - Scorpion Thunderbolt of the Twenty First Century Plan B - to give them their full name)
still good though. I trawled through the box like a nerd and got numbers like 123, 007, and 400 ;D
The massive new STOT print is great - will be a pop edition (50 copies - ยฃ20 each) on sale soon for anyone who can't get to the fair.
www.stdinconline.com/
remember peeps...... pick up a free entrance ticket from The Aquarium (Farringdon rd - not far from Angel where the Art Fair is). gets two people in for free......

London Art Fair, by smashedhat on Jan 19, 2007 18:23:40 GMT 1, The Dan Baldwin stuff is very cool. There are some great hand painted vases available @ 595 each which seems like a pretty good buy, especially if you like obscene vases.
He has a solo show coming up in Feb, where I should have a vase to collect, can't wait

London Art Fair, by mido on Jan 21, 2007 1:44:08 GMT 1, Ok people, if anyone REALLY wanted one of these, PM me and I'll try to send you one (for free). I have about 6 left.
It's by STOT (or STOT21stCplanB - Scorpion Thunderbolt of the Twenty First Century Plan B - to give them their full name). It's a taster of their next exhibition, at the Aquarium L-13 in February, where, in their typical style, they will have over 1000 visions of doom dragged from the future.
It's a little 'print' (about 9cm x 7cm) and has a number (between 1 and 400) stamped in the top right front corner, within the normal STOT blind stamp, and a hand drawing on the back (this is their signature'). They were sold at The London Art Fair for the princely sum of 25p, most probably (knowing the Aquarium) to be as far removed from all the poncy Cork St exhibitors as possible.
Image on this page. www.stdinconline.com/
I've already agreed to send a few to people who couldn't get to the Fair, so if you REALLY want one, PM me. This is for people who can't get to London, don't live in London, have a sick dog, have no nose, etc, so no Walthamstow people :-)
and no f'ing dealers or generally people on here who are always going on about 'buy my prints', 'how much are they worth' and 'is it too big / is it too small?' (i just couldn't resist a Life of Brian joke in there...).
In the very unlikely event that these command huge sums on ebay in the future, and u want to flog it, please have the decency to donate the cash to charity.
Finally - I imagine (just an educated guess) the Aquarium will probablt sell the ones they have left on the website, but couldn't be certain. So if you miss out, don't worry.
