POW Shipping Charges, by bonesy on Sept 27, 2006 17:50:27 GMT 1, Does POW charge ridiculous shipping rates everywhere, or just to the US? It is INSANE what they charge. I put off ordering smaller items in the past because of this. A couple weeks ago I ordered 5 Soup Can posters and 6 Keep Left stickers, OVER $100 IN SHIPPING I was charged. Each additional sticker.... 3.5 pounds. Because shipping 6 stickers Im sure costs around 21 pounds right? Well, it aint right.

The prints are not sent seperately. I received a tube today with 5 posters in it, cost me $60+ in shipping for 1 tube

POW Shipping Charges, by Ågent ßacardi on Sept 27, 2006 20:04:24 GMT 1, Damn, that's crazy! I just bought 2 prints and it cost me 18 pounds. Not a lot compared to what you paid, but for only 2 prints, that's quite extravagant!
By the way, what's the average time lapse between your purchase and receipt of the goodies? It's my first POW purchase.

POW Shipping Charges, by bonesy on Sept 27, 2006 20:17:03 GMT 1, What up Jared
They are quick Ill give them that, typically less than 2 weeks. I ordered these posters when I got back from LA (fearing a rush and they may stop producing) and they arrived today. In the past theyve been quick too.
I sent them an email asking if the charges were correct and never received a response back.... Im not trying to bust balls and dont mind paying an international shipping premium- but $42 to ship 6 stickers is just dumb, though I guess I did still buy them

POW Shipping Charges, by mido on Sept 28, 2006 0:31:52 GMT 1, POW sent everything out in separate tubes. To make sure things don't get rubbed together etc.
I think the problem you have is that the soup can poster is not that 'precious' and could be put into one tube, but their ordering system can't do that. Ditto with stickers.
Luckily I live near London and have often gone there in person to pick up. But I also sometimes do pay the postage, especially if I think something will sell out before my next trip into central london....
um, maybe if you emailed them and explained they might be able to combine the postage or something??

POW Shipping Charges, by gm on Sept 28, 2006 11:04:07 GMT 1, The UK Post Office has recently started charging by size as well as weight now, so an empty postal tube that cost [whatever it was] to send a month ago will probably cost double that now. Factor in the increased charges for weight too...
Still cheaper than couriers.

no problem to ask....
i gave 3 of them out as presents so far....for the last 3 years i've picked one print and gave it to friends of mine for christmas/birthday.....the friends chosen are generally the ones whose apartments are bare white walls.....
2004 it was One Hell of a Leader by Shepard Fairey 2005 it was MLK, Jr. by Shepard Fairey 2006 Che by Dolk(i got married this year and really leaned on my friends for help with the planning, so they got a bit of a bonus)
i really do love the image so i'm thinking about picking up a few more when i finally place my next POW order(the new Micallef's, Burger King, The Kid)....

POW Shipping Charges, by bonesy on Sept 30, 2006 1:39:06 GMT 1, Steph got back to me and said that the shipping for tubes is very expensive and she apologizes. I paid 32 pounds to ship the posters and the actual shipping was 16. On the stickers she said she would look into it and refund me the difference; I paid 21 and it cost them under 5.
Im not gonna make a big deal about it.... if I get a small refund great, if not whatever Im not gonna contact them again; I dont want to hassle Steph about it. Shes always been great at getting back to me. It does annoy me though that I paid 53 pounds in shipping and it cost them 21 pounds (plus a tube)......

POW Shipping Charges, by andrewd on Oct 26, 2006 8:45:22 GMT 1, Not wanting to bite the hand that decorates my house but I have just recieved the Insect book and two sets of stickers. The Insect book had a price tag of 13 euros ( £9 ) but was sold by POW for £25 ( OK it was signed by the Insects and imported from France ) plus £7 postage. I was also charged a further £2.25 postage for the two lots of stickers. It all arrived in an A4 envelope with £1:50 franked postage!! Seems a bit steep! I can see why the prints justify a £7 P&P charge but £9.25 postage & packaging for a £1:50 stamp and enevlope is too much.
