Unlimited print runs, by CR on Nov 3, 2006 9:34:09 GMT 1, I think that POW should release a couple of banksy prints on an unlimited scale and sell them at a reasonable price so that those of us who want them to hang on our wall, but want the superior look and quality to a poster can do so.

Unlimited print runs, by CR on Nov 3, 2006 9:41:32 GMT 1, yea, but the soup can is a poster! I mean unlimited run of silk prints.
I want to be able to hang a decent silk print of a banksy work on my wall and not sit at the copmuter hitting refresh for 2 weeks to get one.
If they made an unlimited run of silk prints - even just a couple of banksy's work - then we could all have at least a couple of good Banksy silk prints on our walls without going bankrupt!

Unlimited print runs, by Curley on Nov 3, 2006 10:00:04 GMT 1, Sorry dont agree at all. The whole point is that the silk screens are hand made limited editions and therefore have a rarity and a value. Creating unlimited print runs just devalues everything. i consider myself an individual and as such crave to have some thing that no one else has. If everyone had one on their walls it would become very dull.
Also if they are exactly the same but minus stamps and numbers people would soon be bootleg the stamp and the more criminally minded out there would sell them as limited editions and kill the market.

Unlimited print runs, by CR on Nov 3, 2006 10:06:44 GMT 1, i dont mean make the limited ones unlimited - i mean create say two completly new prints that will only be printed as an unlimited run.
I understand that a limited one then turned into an unlimited one would devalue it and open it to forgery but i reckon producing just a couple of unlimited ones would be ok.
perhaps even just a really big limited run - like 2000

Unlimited print runs, by rickyc on Nov 3, 2006 10:19:24 GMT 1, Although, much like the soup cans poster - it is not an unlimted run of the original, but a variation (page full of cans).
I wouldn't mind if that was the case, that was there can be a limited run which is clearly different from an unlimited run.
Apologies for not making much sense, havent had my morning coffee yet.

Agreed. The Soup Cans poster was pretty good in quality too, wasn't it? I just want the image, don't care about the quality as long as it's not printed on tissue paper or something stupid And of course, they should be variations of the limited edition ones, and not exactly the same. That way, collectors are happy, and broke Banksy fans are happy. POW and the artist should be happy too, 'cos that's even more money for them - they'll probably sell much more of these than the original prints.

So why bother with prints at all? Several hundred other individuals will have exactly the same as you.
