I’ve had the confirmation email, money cleared and the updated email as well from Love Welcomes. .

I’ve come home from work today and found a Royal Mail red card through the letterbox for a signed item...I genuinely can’t think of anything I’m waiting on other than this mat.

The anticipation and the excitement now...wow. It’ll be a pair of socks I ordered months ago but still.

Still available for 40 quid from Love Welcomes (and their name was even shown in the photos on the listing). 
I hope they didn't pay much more than "retail" for it, but yes, seeing as how the listing is misleading, they should be able to get their money back if they're not happy.

If you purchase in the E.U you have 14 days after you receive the item to change your mind.

You don't have to have a reason but you pay the shipping back.

It's gonna be tough. First you're gonna have to bug all of your future guests, invite them over and show them your Art Welcome Mat. Then you'll need to listen to their private conversations after they leave your home. Only then will we figure out who's right or wrong. 

Also, Banksy's IG post says the shop sells art, homewares and disappointment. So he does consider some items homeware. I would assume that those items which are unlimited are the homeware items. Although, the mat could be art, but unlimited to encourage donations. I guess we'll never know.

I would wager that the main reason people are arguing for the Art side is to hype the flip. This is the only shop item being discussed on the forum because people have already secured the order.

If Banksy intended this to be a work of Art, which I think most right minded adults at this stage agree on, then it is. Not my opinion or yours, but the Artists. We can see the hidden intentions, those groveling thinking that Banksy somehow reads this mess, and some others showering praise for the flip, and some who generally want to express their support for the people. But you can tell most are in it for the potential profit as most of the discussion has been about edition size. 

I think it's a great item for Banksy to pick for deterring flipping because a mat isn't exactly a coveted art item. Of all the items on the shop, I feel it's aesthetically the worst, but does the most good.

Then the answer is No, it's a welcome mat. But if you really think it is, It's not a very good work of art. So no, you're not going to get rich off of it. You're not going to impress anyone with this mat on your wall. You're not going to change the minds of those who don't support humane behavior. You're not going to convince people that you're a good person because you bought an item based on Brand recognition. You're not going to be handing down this welcome mat to your children for them to cherish. 


This should've been my answer to why art doesn't matter. it really doesnt.
