Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by kaz89 on Jun 26, 2020 9:51:09 GMT 1, Hi all,
My partner and I were lucky enough to be given the Crisis As Usual posters at the GDP display. I’d love to be able to swap one of them for the flower thrower poster that was also given out plus some cash. Would also consider a rat with something extra. Or try your luck!
Posters are in perfect condition, they were transported in a wrapping paper tube.
Not looking to sell as I’d rather have them framed on my wall!
I am located in London for the next month before I move back to NZ.

Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by iamzero on Jun 26, 2020 16:41:01 GMT 1, I have been told by a very reliable source that if left out they do turn yellow very quickly. I am still looking for one of these at a reasonable price.

Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by buffin on Jun 26, 2020 16:42:18 GMT 1, Someone put a value on this. What are the "throwers" and "crisis" actually worth? How many of these were actually distributed? Soup can posters are going for 800 quid (unsigned, unnumbered and a way bigger edition than these screen prints) Monkey Parliaments (again, unsigned, unnumbered and probably a bigger edition than these) Let the flame wars begin! Also, lets leave out "these were designed to rot into a million pieces within x time frame" I have spoken to a paper restorer about this and its total bullshit if stored/framed correctly.
Tate Ward sold these a few days ago. Including premium I think Crisis was £1k and Thrower just over £2k.

Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by kwatis on Jun 26, 2020 17:12:46 GMT 1, IMO the Thrower and Rat are more iconic and more recognizably "Banksy". The "Crisis As Usual" is amazing too and equally linked to GDP. It's really a toss up as to which will be valued higher/lower in the future. What I can say with confidence is that since they are by Banksy and aren't continually being re-released (at the moment, it seems that the give away during Croydon's GDP display is a one and done event) they will definitely go up in value.

Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by drip on Jun 26, 2020 19:16:34 GMT 1, I have been told by a very reliable source that if left out they do turn yellow very quickly. I am still looking for one of these at a reasonable price. Back when my family owned a chippy (a fish & chip establishment, not a carpenter), I used to pinch the large white paper they would wrap the chips with, and I then used it to draw pictures on and whatnot. And yeah, that yellowed really quickly when left out too. Cheap paper hates the UV. Or the other way around. Or both?

Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Deleted on Jun 26, 2020 19:34:57 GMT 1, I bought the set of three from one of the staff members of the show. Used a fantastic restorer in Paris as well as a good framer, and I believe a few members of the forum used them as well. Cost was 500 Euros per piece for restoring and framing and worth every penny, and i love them.

Yes that’s stunning ! Congrats 🍾 Just, I’m Still a bit shocked when I read about this posters prices ( 1 k, 2 k , even the Soup cans that I have - really 800 ?! )’, because it’s so much easy to copy them, they are not numbered, and well nothing is sure ! I thought that Monkey Parliament was the rarest, I mean the most asked because of What happened in UK, last year ! I’m wondering so how much could be the value of the Bristol Anarchist limited to 2000 and printed signed. I have the LA exhibition too.. But honestly , these 1 or 2 k ( without any security to get a genuine one ) are the prices of a signed print as an Invader Kit or print per example etc ., WoW i m shocked ( not at all lol but can’t find the real world for « étonné » , impressed ? Nope. Stupendous!

Banksy CRISIS AS USUAL Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Deleted on Jun 26, 2020 20:09:28 GMT 1, Actually not that easy to forge (paper used) and provenance is key here, if you can prove it. Not that i care much about the value but they look fantastic in my kitchen :-)

Any idea on how rat compares price wise to the two others? I’d consider adding some cash with my crisis for a flame thrower!

This literally the cheapest paper on the market. Yes it will turn yellow and degrading when UV light hit it. Leave a newspaper out in the sun fir 1 day and see what happens.
They should of put a disclaimer in these. “ will self destruct in 3 months”. But hey what do expect for a free item.

You beat me to it 😉. Surprising result considering there must have been many more rats given out than the others.

Many more rats given out, but also a much more iconic Banksy image... and universal, without a language barrier.

If u got UV glass your good (for a while). But keep away from the sun. Remember these were intentionally made to self destruct over time. No archival bullshit paper here, Just raw street art prints here in its finest firm made for the street and given away on the street. I only wished they had a table set up with crayons so the kiddies could them in while the parents were looking at the “housewares”
