Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by avec art on Jan 29, 2023 22:14:24 GMT 1, Sorry to chime in this way, but I'll speak my mind from what I know and there were numerous threads about this in the past. The wrinkles that you should be able to see on the back are NOT a result of the condition of the print but as as result of the screen printing process.
When the thin paper is screen printed on, the ink/ paint medium then dries, as it dries it tightens the paper and this is what causes them. This was one indicative way of telling if it has been screen printed or not.
The photo of the back in this regard is not particularly clear.

More ink, more creases in the paper. I picked up my 2 rats from the shop myself and they have hardly any creases at all. Maybe the end of the run with less ink in the screen.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by avec art on Jan 29, 2023 23:39:47 GMT 1, Fair enough, and cheers for saying so because I didn't want to spoil a thread, and I'm pretty sure wizard is a decent sort, but as I've given approval to other rats, which were wrinkly on the back, I wanted to make the point for balance.

It does look great though. Can't argue with the outcome.

I’ve not framed mine yet as was worried it would wrinkle and sun stain… but actually… I really like how it looks anyway! Might be the next thing on my frame list.

I was not keen on them mounting the piece onto board The blacks are very black When you say "not keen" does this mean they did so without your OK? I would be livid if this happened to me! It does look great though. Can't argue with the outcome. A lot of framers suggested to me dry mounting. I said no way. There is someone on the forum who did a very nice framing in Paris. They mounted the rat and flowers which gets rid of the newsprint ripples but IMO that is problematic if you do decide to resell.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Complex iCom on Jul 16, 2023 17:24:02 GMT 1, Hello Forumites!
NEW. I have added images of the reverse sides of the prints, which as you can see are very flat. The reason they are flat and not wavy (due to moisture when originally printed) is because I have had them flattened by Graham Bignell a well known Banksy restorer in London. A bit more about that below.
Here are some very clean and flat Banksy GDP pieces for sale.
These prints are slightly different than usual. I had Graham Bignell put them through a conservation process of washing, humidification and pressing to improve the lasting brightness of the paper and flatten them. It was very time consuming but if you like these prints flat then it's worth doing.
The process was rather (bloomin) expensive, but I think worth doing, especially if it prolongs the life of the prints.
As usual please DM me any questions, or ask for more images. Happy to share Bignell’s invoice with buyers.
I am not sure of today’s market value of these, I based them roughly on the low end of Ebay prices, but have also included my conservation costs. Can send internationally. Cheers Iain
Rat A. SOLD Is perfect. £1,000
Rat B. SOLD Has two very light marks on it, so this one will be marked down in price. £800
Flower Thrower. SOLD Super clean, bright and flat. £1,100
Crisis as Usual. Sadly has some stains at the top (I didn’t do it!) Graham Bignell couldn’t get them out nor another restorer, I tried! A border could frame out the stains, and the size of the print could be exactly the same as Banksy's in Croydon.
Open to offers on this one. £1,100

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Complex iCom on Jul 17, 2023 17:51:42 GMT 1, These certainly are not fake. In fact I bought two from Forum members.
They have been FLATTENED as I have made clear, and at great expense!
A lot of members know that I've worked with some very significant artists in our beloved streetart world, and I've been a collector for decades. I have a book published about my work with friends of Banksy!
So why would I peddle fakes? And why would I spend nearly £1,500 restoring them? Are you suggesting Graham Bignell restores fakes too?
THEY HAVE BEEN FLATTENED!!
I'll will find the unrestored images, just for you, ok?

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Complex iCom on Jul 17, 2023 19:43:25 GMT 1, Here are the images of the prints before I had them flattened by Graham Bignell.
As you can see they look exactly as they should. Very wavy and rippled.
We know why they are wavy as some very knowledgable screenprinters have actually explained the process on the Forum.
As another poster said, some people love the waves, and see that as part of the process and charm, others like them flattened, some have even mounted them permanently on board.
I like them flat and Graham Bignell did a great job.
I wasn’t going to sell them, but life gets in the way when you’re making plans.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by inefficiency of on Jul 17, 2023 20:32:45 GMT 1, I can tell my viewing the back that these are not legit. These are fake. Did you even read any of his post before even considering your reply and assumption? Ridiculous to use the ripples as a benchmark for authenticity with the process he has used for flattening his prints.
Due diligence is needed when buying anything if any larger sum of money, but I think you need to question this method as holding any value in this instance.
