Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by u%hdjfka c on Nov 16, 2021 13:46:41 GMT 1, Having studied lo-res Banksy images on the internet for years and being a collector of cheap tat, flyers, magazines, unauthorised vinyl records and 100% genuine street pieces from catawiki, I can confirm that this piece is indeed 100% GENUINE. The signature is PERFECT. I am pleased to add it to my collection and will be applying to Pest Control immediately with a view to consigning it to a Christie's sale soon. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Venus and the Cat on Nov 22, 2021 22:51:49 GMT 1, Those four Cartrain collages being sold for 1K look better than this 😂 Now there’s a name I’ve not heard for a while! 🤣 He's alive and kicking with a lot to say for himself. I did an interview with him earlier this year... lots of strong opinions of the world:

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by oooomska on Dec 14, 2021 16:11:57 GMT 1, FOR SALE 2.5K. - one Banksy mint GDP rat, squirrelled away on the night of 13th/ 14th October (Sat/ Sun night) 2019 from the GDP exhibition in Croydon. I was very fortunate, and got a couple of these from the men in brown coats.
I have sold some over the last couple of years on the forum. I will supply a signed letter which includes photos of the exhibition. I am in the photos. You can also have a copy of a parking ticket from the night.
Based in North London. Can travel a reasonable distance for a meet or courier it to you before Xmas.
PHOTOS: First couple of photos are the rat print for sale. This one is stark white as it has been in a portfolio since the night of the exhibition. No tears or adhesive patches. I took the tiny bits of sticky tape used to secure them roll them off on the night.
The last photo was taken in natural light. It shows a rat I had framed with art glass (bottom) shown against the one I'm selling, which has been kept entirely out of the light. You can see how it has yellowed behind the glass... I include this to show how thin and delicate the newsprint is (120 GSM I think) and what kind of effect you can expect over the years as you display it.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by churchwood on Dec 15, 2021 8:27:15 GMT 1, Gl with the sale.
Interesting to see the difference between the two now it's been a couple of years since they appeared.
I actually quite like the yellowing/ageing of the exposed one when it's uniform.

I have a completely flawless track record of buying and selling via this forum, the many members I've dealt with will attest to that so please retract your statement.

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by sandinista on Dec 24, 2021 12:41:20 GMT 1, Chill out was a joke as you posted 'still one available' implying there were more. But whilst you've thrown your toys out the pram I will say there are hundreds of fakes of these out there and i've been in the presence of hundreds at a print shop. I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole as there seems no way to authenticate. GLWTS

That doesnt work, there is to little empty space around the rat ( or in other words the sheet is too small )

Thanks K, Thanks for getting back....appreciated (a shame eh).
Maybe I’ll include a back-drop of Cecil riding a Roller-skate!

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by avec art on Dec 30, 2021 16:58:12 GMT 1, I might've misunderstood the question, but I'd say the issue is not lack of space, I think there is plenty under the rats feet. The problem with a circular framing is there is too much space around the corners of the page.
Therefore the circle mount needs to be excessively wide to accommodate this. I can't see anyway around this problem without either cutting or folding the excess paper around the edge, which obviously isn't ideal.
If there was a way I'd definitely like to have a circular frame for this print.

I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole as there seems no way to authenticate. GLWTS Far from throwing my toys out the pram thanks. The fact that you talk about trying to authenticate an unsigned print that was handed out for free to visitors where the edition number is unknown says it all, I suppose you'll be asking for a photo of me standing next to the guy who handed it over lol. Next time I have any similar banksy prints to authenticate I'll be sure to give you a call as the unofficial Pest Control representative.
Regardless whether or not you're joking the outcome of your post is only going to jeopardise the sale I’m trying to make and even worse damage the reputation that I’ve built up on the forum as a trustworthy member who fellow members can have confidence in dealing with.
However you look at it your post isn’t helpful in any shape or form, so if the sale thread isn’t of any interest to you and you don’t have anything positive to say then keep it to yourself or find something purposeful to do with your time.
If anything else you made me chuckle. Happy 2022!

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by inefficiency of on Dec 30, 2021 18:09:30 GMT 1, I am considering having the framer do a deacidification process on a GDP Flowers print on the 50GSM newsprint in order to preserve it and prevent yellowing. Apparently it's often done by libraries on old manuscripts. And it's sometimes done with framing old newspaper headlines. Anyone with any experience with this that can offer some advice? I am having it framed using mylar corners, museum glass, archival materials. But perhaps the eventual yellowing would be a nice natural part of the image. I have to say, I like the natural look of the paper as it currently is. Thoughts?
Did you go ahead with this process? Wondering if any joy? Mines still in a portfolio but with a house move early 2022, I’d quite like to get mine on display. Thanks 👍🏻

Could be - all i remembered is that it doesn’t really work ( without damaging the sheet )

Had mine restored in London removing some minor marks successfully. Framed using Tru-Vue Museum Optium Acrylic which I was told offers the best protection. Have it on the wall in my study where there is not too much light. It’s looking as it did when I acquired it. I’d suggest hanging it where there is not an abundance of sun light as this could definitely speed up the discoloration of the newspaper stock. Whilst not a Pest Control recognized piece, it’s one of my favorites.

Cheers buddy, yeah mines been in a portfolio since I collected it myself on the day, I’ve had a few peeks and it seems unchanged so far, I think I will probably just follow the same plan as yourself. Try my best to preserve it with just decent framing and placement.
Also agreed with the pest control thing, I like it’s raw form, don’t get me wrong a bit thick paper would have been nicer, but tbh, this will be the only print I’ll have the opportunity to own, so I’m pretty chuffed with it.

Totally. I've had a fair few prints over the years and i've loved the rawness of this one, just feels like a rat crawling the walls. Also, slightly heals the wounds of selling Applause, Toxic Mary and Grappling Hook way too early

Banksy RAT Print, Gross Domestic Product , by Atelier on Jan 3, 2022 5:17:19 GMT 1, A good print is a good print. If you do not plan to flip and want a cool banksy print that's relatively inexpensive, these are a a great buy at this number. The only difference between the GDP Rat's and other unsigned Banksy prints is a PC COA of which the only real purpose is the confirmation of authentication if you plan to sell. The GDP Rats look great framed and artistically are a lot more pure and interesting than a good number of Banksy prints. There's little difference between these and the Tesco Petrol Bomb posters that go for upto 4kGBP in auction.

I actually did do this and it came out great. It didn’t disturb the print at all not change any of the texture of the piece. But it should help preserve it for years to come. PM if you want to see a photo of the final museum glass and gold gilded frame. Best of luck!

And how can a seller prove his good faith if he has nothing but the print itself that he got that day ?
