BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Deleted on Aug 12, 2020 19:17:52 GMT 1, I joined after I won. I'm not rich. I don't own any street art of any real value. I have followed a the art of Banksy for many years and just never heard of UAA until a friend pointed me here. I've traveled abroad to see Banksy art in person, I just couldn't afford a piece, until I got lucky. I have learned a lot since I joined. If posting pics of this after I get it is gloating or in bad taste, I won't. I didn't know that was a thing 🤷♂️. So if "noobs" winning is a bad thing and frowned upon, I apologize Welcome. Delighted for you. It’s great that it’s gone to a fan. Please do post pictures. It isn’t gloating (unless you call us all losers for not winning one of course!). I’m sure we’d all love to see it. New members winning is certainly not a bad thing in my book. Though I am a little envious, I must admit. You are always so welcoming to new people on here and it's always nice to see.

Welcome to the forum mate & congrats on a brilliant win, the Thrower is going to be immense.
Regarding the negativity, try to brush it off. I was in the exact same boat as you, long time admirer of Banksy, strong interest in him as an artist and his work but never in a lifetime would have the disposal income to purchase one. Then I got lucky in the GDP lottery such as yourself (I was torn between the Met Ball or the Thrower but went for the former & massively lucked out), I joined UAA shortly after & got some real paranoid theories of me being a magic circle illuminati member with direct access to his signed work rather than the reality of me being a working class bloke who simply got lucky. The majority of people here are great, the amount of knowledge and advice I’ve received is priceless, you’ve just got to be prepared to sift through the clowns from time to time.
P.S - Please do upload pictures when it arrives, I get the same buzz back everytime I see another winner.

Thank you and congrats to you as well!
I'm currently working in a 100° shop wondering why I turned down the Illuminati Magic Circle invite when they came to my door 😂
I've learned so much about insurance and framing that it's definitely worth sifting through the negativity. Thanks to everyone for your kindness.

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by scottybobsled on Aug 13, 2020 18:59:12 GMT 1, I joined after I won. So if "noobs" winning is a bad thing and frowned upon, I apologize I'm the same, longtime fan of Banksy's work, was lucky enough to win a Thrower, and started looking for information about other pieces immediately. Found UAA through Reddit and y'all have taught me so much. I'm just out of university, so I plan on enjoying this piece for a long, long time (and being more active here).
I've mostly been a lurker, but I'll post pics after it's framed. I just want to echo this and thank you all for creating the space.

Well happy for both of you 👍 There's a lot of members on this forum just constantly bitching and looking for people to bite. Just ignore them.
Lots of valuable information you will pick up on the forum. I have learned so much over the years and you will also.
Been said many times on here on many threads...buy what artists you like and can afford as there's a lot of hype and crap around for sale and the majority here are out to flip for profit only. Art is big business. You both wil make a decent return (if you sell down the track) from your banksy's which is good, hopefully you don't need to sell, get them framed and up on the wall. Cheers

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by Coach on Aug 13, 2020 22:10:19 GMT 1, One bit of advice to some of the new members who have been lucky to win the Thrower print. If you haven’t owned such I high value piece of art before, please do some research about framing. This would include the quality of the framer, the materials used, the glass and more. These pieces really deserve museum quality framing to reduce the risk of damage over time. The problem is that you wont know about that damage for years to come, when you eventually take it out of the frame. Ask questions on here. Lots of people are very knowledgeable. It is not uncommon to find that Banksys have been framed badly especially as they were so cheap at source. But you have the advantage of knowing now that the print is exceptionally valuable, so you won’t have the same excuse! Look to spend quite a lot of money, I’m afraid. If you don’t have it, I would in all honestly, suggest that you don’t rush to frame, but instead take time to raise the funds to get it done properly. Once again, congratulations.
