I dont flip and never have but to me the whole flipper shaming thing is absurd. Flippers come in late in the game of an artist's production / releases - and a "true" collector to me is someone who collects artists before they become "popular" . So yeah I dont care if a "flipper" beats you to a new release - but I feel your frustration when you miss a release and find it 2x later on ebay, which imo still does not make a flipper a 🐓

Flipping doesn’t particularly bother me. Ive bought from flippers myself. The part that makes you look a complete 🐓is putting it on an art forum a couple of hours later. It rubs peoples noses in it that wanted but couldn’t get. If you’re going to do it why not look at who’s said they wanted it and message them directly. At least that way you’re just offering someone something that they asked for rather than irritating people that didn’t.

Totally agree. I've bought from flippers, and admit to having done it myself before when I've needed the money, but there's nothing I want enough that I'd buy it off someone who advertised it here within minutes of buying it. For starters, the kind of person that does that is not someone I'd particularly trust as a seller.

I am a big art snob, I got my own opinions, I get pissed off at some while I laugh at others. And to me the whole flipper shaming is a bit of hypocritical but not a subject that interests me enough to keep discussing it for hours. Would rather argue about the art and artists themselves but hello internet!
