Ben Frost ππ² Print Release β’ Australia β’ Pop Art, by steviededalus on May 28, 2008 16:22:24 GMT 1, Hey guys. I'm thinking about getting some Ben Frost prints. What's everybody's thoughts on him. I only just heard of him recently. He's got a following in Australia, but prices are still very modest... Worthwhile?

The prints from Stupid Krap are very good value. I saw some of his large originals in Amsterdam recently & was very impressed.

Ben Frost ππ² Print Release β’ Australia β’ Pop Art, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 22, 2008 4:32:00 GMT 1, Definitly contact the staff at stupidkrap and anywhere else that has sold his work to ask if they have some APs, returns, cancellations etc before going to the secondary market. Often galleries say stuff is sold out but still have a piece or two held back, for punters who show a special interest. Good luck.

Ben Frost ππ² Print Release β’ Australia β’ Pop Art, by no walls on Aug 30, 2008 18:08:18 GMT 1, Ben Frost - Crapitalism Dray Walk Gallery, Old Truman Brewery, London Opening night/preview 25th September from 6.00pm
Ben's first UK solo show, Crapitalism will include a selection of amazing new paintings, prints, sculptures and a video installation as he explores the darker side of consumerism. If you'd like to come to the opening night on the 25th, email lorina@nowallsgallery.com.
We know some of you have found the No Walls site already so thanks for your support. We've been open for business for a couple of weeks but have left shouting about what we're up to until now. Take a look at www.nowallsgallery.com when you get the chance.
Along with selling a mix of primary and secondary market work by a bunch of our favourite artists including Eric Bailey, Banksy, Blek Le Rat, Faile, Shepard Fairey, Ben Frost, Paul Insect, Anthony Lister and Antony Micallef we'll also be holding pop-up shows in some of the best temporary spaces both in London and overseas.
We've got some awesome stuff in the pipeline. First up is Crapitalism at the end of September. Ben's recent shows in New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Beijing have made him one to watch and those of you who haven't seen his work in the flesh before are in for a treat.

Ben Frost ππ² Print Release β’ Australia β’ Pop Art, by no walls on Sept 1, 2008 13:21:57 GMT 1, Cheers Rourke. Appreciate the comments. Our site's still a work in progress so more to come on that front. Youβre right about Ericβ¦awesome work. Beautiful old school academic painting style but very contemporary street influenced subject matter. Working on his first solo show with us early next year at the moment. I'll send an invite when the time comes.
Benβs work on Crapitalism is nearly finished and weβre putting the final preparations together. Promises to be something special. If anyone wants to come to the launch night on the 25th, give us a shout... crapitalism@nowallsgallery.com.
On that note, another piece of magic from Mr Frost to brighten your Monday...

Ben Frost ππ² Print Release β’ Australia β’ Pop Art, by Oliver Winconek on Sept 1, 2008 15:54:24 GMT 1, I have very mixed feelings towards Ben's work. At first glance it's easy just to dismiss it as purile or cliched but there is definitely something there, I find it visually refreshing and gives a potted view of the somewhat over branded, commercial, gaudy, chaotic world we find ourselves living in at times. It reminds me in some way of the work of GwenaΓ«l SalaΓΌn - www.thefrenchartstudio.com/salaun.html in the way that he throws together lots of iconic elements of modern life

Ben Frost ππ² Print Release β’ Australia β’ Pop Art, by no walls on Sept 2, 2008 19:13:25 GMT 1, I see the similarity with GwenaΓ«lβs work. Nice stuff. The way Ben layers so many different meanings and references into his collage style pieces and their sheer scale makes his work pretty unique though.
The detail in his larger collage style pieces is amazing in the flesh. Weβve got a couple of pieces up at home and weβre still seeing new themes in them years after hanging them. Awesome.
