There do seem to be a few OG's for sale at the moment at pretty reasonable prices. The one on ebay last night finished at £520 which I guess was below cost?

Personally I like Lister's art. There's some real fluidity about his characters which I really rate. I don't see too many disney characters or skulls in it, but I will give you the comic book element.

I dont even think Lister has been hyped by this forum. The ability to make an instant profit on a print should not be used as a judgement on an artists talent. I am fan of Lister and hope to add a canvas to my collection sometime soon . Paul at Elms for one thinks Lister is a serious talent who will be remembered and I would take his opinion over an ebay fliper any day.

thought that one sold on ebay was very weak. not surprised at the low price.
I meant sales at source are very strong for both lister and baldwin.

Sh*t, he maybe sooooo next month (better get on that stupidkrap site, what`d you say, his comeback isn't til june, few that's ok then, who's hot today? surely that trebleclef or whatever his name was, has got to be due for a comeback!

This sort of thread really irritates me. I'm not sure what people want sometimes. If an artists' work doubles in value overnight everyone complains that they can't afford them, if the works don't double in value overnight then they are dismissed as rubbish.

The problem is that we have people piling on these artists looking to turn an instant profit. It didn't work that way for Banksy or Neate or Walker to start with. Banksy pieces were available for years on Pictures on Walls and sold for cost (or less) on ebay. Until the Bonhams auction in February Nick Walker prints and canvases sat on his site for months. Dface canvases used to stay on his site for years; even a few months ago it was possible to buy a Cli Che on ebay for cost and a Neate street piece for under 1k; then all the 'fans' materialised.

Lister's work is some of the best I've seen- it's comparable in quality to Neate. I have no doubt that prices for his work will soon reflect that. In the meantime the longer that the flippers and investors stay away the better...

Lister doesn't need this board or this scene at all. He's travelling in many other circles of the art world right now. His print prices spiked due to hype on here and WK, but the strong sales of his originals have little to do with street art collectors.

Baldwin on the other hand...

I have never understood the art of Baldwin, or how it could have appealed to so many people.

I do really like Anthony's work though for the most part - very easy on the eye. I hope he keeps the editions small and that people don't start paying silly prices for his work. No, I haven't managed to buy from stupidkrap yet, but I will once the flippers have been lumbered with his work or sold it at cost and are no longer interested.
