im on the pre-list at skrap.com but havent heard from the yet
have they been released/sold out already or are they due soon
i understand that the link above is for canvases so are the prints due soon?

They gave all on their standard mailing list a chance to sign up to the special pre-order list for the Lister print... Unfortunately, only a few of those actually on the aforementioned Lister list (ha ha) got the email offering them a chance to buy. Which sucks.

Interesting... I don't remember receiving such an offer from them. Bastards!!! I'm just bitter, because I didn't get the chance probably, can't imagine I'd be complaining if I'd ordered them!!

I think they might be having site/email issues to be fair. They don't seem the types to blindly ignore emails and the site was down most of yesterday.

Really? I've sent them at least 3 e-mails in the past 6 months and have never heard a word back from them.

the response has been wonderful.

the result of this is that not everyone who is on the waiting list
will be able to receive a set of the prints. There are only
40 sets available for release through SK.com out of the edition of
50.

i am currently looking over the orders and the number of sets
still available. in the interests of fairness i have been personally
inviting people on the waiting list before wide release. I will have
more information for you later today, and will send out mail to
everyone who is interested in anthony lister's artworks.

I don't understand why not just do it the standard way of releasing items. Send an invite to those on the waiting list, maybe even with a private link (and match up orders to names on said list). Boom. Everyone on the waiting list gets a fair shot.

Definitely would've been better. Not sure how they did choose who they liked and who they didn't, maybe they just went down the list and sent out invoices to those with cool-sounding email addresses. Hopefully we'll get first dibs on the next release ;D

due to overwhelming demand we have not been able to invite every person
on the waiting list to purchase a set.

in earlier emails we had planned a higher number edition release and so had
indicated to a greater number of people that we could reserve a set on their
behalf. however, anthony himself preferred an edition of 50, and
stupidkrap.com had only 40 sets to release at this time. these were taken up
very quickly.

sincere apologies to anyone we could not invite at this time. we did our
best to send the invitations in a fair way on a 'one set of prints per person' basis.

please sign up for our kids today exhibition preview to see more work by
anthony lister.

we look forward to staying in touch and will keep you informed of any future
news about the artwork of anthony lister.

I was on the list to. Its never easy i suppose. What is a fair system? I've thought of this a few times but can't come up with the answer myself. I suppose the positive of this is that the people on the list at least won't flip.

Ok guys, this seams to be quite an interesting subject.

I was offered the set early last week and hence took it up. I emailed them asking when the release was and hey said they had it for pre sale, so i bought a set.

Not sure what i did or said to be given the offer, but im very thankful! Must have been my turn after missing out on every print release since the big bang!

Sorry to all that missed out, i must admit, i dont think i was released the best way.

As per my reply to Stupidcrap's email. I agree there's no perfect way to please people when prints are so oversubscribed. BUT these publishers can go further out of their way to discourage flippers and avoid dealing with them in the future. The best method I've heard of so far was the COA sent with the TMA Hollywood print, requesting that all changes of ownership were registered with the gallery by the buyer ASAP and that those wishing to sell contact the gallery to explain why beforehand. While I admit that anyone can fabricate a story regarding their circumstances, the gallery can use timeframe as a guide and apply common sense. I hope similar initiatives are taken by many other galleries soon.

I think the key is simply to show art-lovers who miss out that they are serious and proactively trying to get the art into the homes and collections of those who appreciate it. Simply stating that they are doing their best to be fair is not enough imo, as profit driven individuals are always 1st in line! Show some initiative please galleries.
