In this case clearly the seller did not agree to wait to next week. His perogative and by the same nature the potential buyer can change his mind as well.

Cash is always king and especially in a falling market when things could be 10-20% cheaper in a week.

In a major auction that everyone could see and bid on (Heritage) which usually go for more than here since there is no 25% fee to deal with, all of 7 days ago, this sold for $3500. That would seem to indicate about $3100-3400 is a realistic fair value right now.
I try to understand why people think these things are hard to look up or why someone would pay 50% more than from a legit auction house?
