Sotheby's Art Auctions β’ NEW YORK πΊπ², by artstylee on Feb 1, 2008 9:56:52 GMT 1, Nice new piece
Does anybody know what did the similar Hirst/Banks, w/the "Brick" background sell for? (or did auction end yet?)
To me his is more innovative than the brick background one. Wonder if final value will reflect similar opinion amongst collectors.

Sotheby's Art Auctions β’ NEW YORK πΊπ², by bill on Feb 1, 2008 16:15:23 GMT 1, Banksy decided he no long wanted to sell that one.
"Cheyenne Westphal, the head of Sotheby's contemporary art in Europe, says graffiti artist Banksy planned to donate a painting that Damien Hirst had given him and that he had defaced by spray-painting in an image of a maid standing in front of a brick wall. Last week, Ms. Westphal says she learned that Banksy changed his mind and decided to donate a different Hirst work, this time without the brick wall. The piece, "Keep It Spotless," is signed by both artists and is estimated to sell for up to $350,000."

Sotheby's Art Auctions β’ NEW YORK πΊπ², by dave313perry on Feb 1, 2008 16:43:25 GMT 1, i feel this may well be the piece that opens the eyes of the big boys in the high-end artworld.
with the association to hirst its bound to raise some eyebrows, could be up up up for the rare Canvas pieces IMO, a million miles away from my world!!!

Sotheby's Art Auctions β’ NEW YORK πΊπ², by otomi on Feb 1, 2008 19:42:28 GMT 1, now it is a classic banksy the title is witty and it works better with the medium - I hope he really pulled the canvas up - the other version was just a plain copy of a street piece (which was great on the street)

I thought it would do more, after all 'hold up' made Β£21,000, where as this, which imo is a better image made a mere Β£16,500. Perhaps the Tate aspect swung it?

Sotheby's Art Auctions β’ NEW YORK πΊπ², by griffermans on May 13, 2009 21:08:01 GMT 1, Unsolded Walker was small and a pretty poor image. I was surprised Sothebys took it in the first place to be honest! $10,000-$15,000, silly really.
