Penny Smash and Grab £10, by Poly Mindset on Oct 17, 2018 23:26:06 GMT 1, Hi guys. I’ve had quite a few PMs and no one seems to know what these are worth! I popped into a gallery earlier that seems to reckon I should get at least £700 for this... does that seem about right? Happy to be guided either way, preferably a few impartial people... happy to take advice and go from there. Thanks in advance! Just my opinion but that particular piece although aesthetically pleasing is a high numbered edition (50) and is only a ten layer stencil so not the most intricate work he's done though I don't know how much that matters to collectors. Additionally, it's only three years old so not one of his really early pieces that are extremely hard to get ie: Dead On the Money (10 layer) or The Special Relationship (8 layer). There are a few penny pieces in the For Sale threads which are less than what you're asking. Unfortunately the framing to most people is a mute point and shouldn't be a factor in the price, just part of the game. My thought is you'd do better between around 500-550 gbp. Don't mean to rock your boat but this is what happens when you put it out there.

I appreciate the feedback and guide. That’s basically where it was at a couple of years ago - it obviously hasn’t moved much price wise since then...

It's all supply and demand. Though his gallery prices/releases have gone up, resale of his pieces generally hold steady unless of course it's on one of his much earlier pieces like the two I mentioned and a few others. Even then, it would take the right collector. GLWTS

Fair points, I agree. I have PM’d everyone that was interested to basically ask them to make me an offer based on your advice and I’ll pick the deal that suits me best. Fairest way for all involved, as every PM I got told me they didn’t know the price either! It’s all supply and demand like you said, so let’s see what offers come in!

Penny Smash and Grab £10, by agu on Nov 9, 2018 11:27:16 GMT 1, Agree with the comments about prices. I own about 15 of his pieces and they are slow moving compared to the like of STIK, Pejac and Mr. B. if i didn't have it already I would look at the £550-600 mark. That said they are SOOOO satisfying and lovely to own. People always comment on the the Pennys ahead of the other. They spend time with them and admire the work ad detail...as do I. So while the return is not as high as other works I still regard my penny collection as the best value by a long way, based on Smiles per £.
Agree with Sprietje, love to see civilised discussion - Penny People are good people.
