Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff

On doing a bit of photography research recently I came across these little beauties taken by Photographer James Pfaff. Thought they'd be of interest to some here.

All are Archival Fujicolor C-Type handprint from the original negative. Paper size 21.5cm x 16.5cm, embossed, signed and dated with edition number on the reverse. In editions of 500 of each image.

A couple will be familiar - Monkey Mask image of Banksy held by The National Portrait Gallery, an unreleased Monkey Mask image and the portrait that is in Wall and Piece.

I thought this was going to be about the photo canvases sold at santas ghetto the year it was done at Charring X Road. I bought one of the crowes fiddling with the CCTV installation.

Have yet to see another from the show.

I found his website last year having seen the image in the NPG, but nothing like this for sale when I was last there

Yes, guess they are recent editions. There was a larger size one of the image at NPG released in 2017 which was an edition of three - was around 4k or so.

You won't be dissapointed. As dibbs said - quality photos by a quality photographer. As they're all produced from original negatives and are C Type handprints they have a richness all to often lost in images shot and printed digitally.

I suppose you could see these as images purely as commissions by Banksy for PR, etc. So nice memorabilia, signed by the photographer.
Or, you could see them as official collaborations between Banksy and the photographer, and works of art in their own right.

They seem to me to be constructed and thought about images, conceived by Banksy and the photographer, rather than straight portraits purely by the photographer.

I do think we have to be careful about posting like this. Your point could have been made without the insult. My concern is that members like lha (who, by the way, as far as I can recall has always been respectful of others) may be put off sharing opportunities with us all again. I’m not for one second suggesting you are not free to post what you like, just that the tone of this post might be ill advised in the long run.
