Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by tab1 on Nov 26, 2020 2:51:33 GMT 1, This is in my view a £32-33k print for a private sale, if I was the guy who offered £36k Id be pulling my offer.
Private buyers will have more negotiating power Most would would avoid auctions as leaves a trail for capital gains tax

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by JFCC on Nov 26, 2020 22:16:05 GMT 1, If we assume that Tate Ward insisted on keeping their full commission, the equivalent hammer price was £27.6k.
You would like to believe the seller was savvy enough to have negotiated no sellers fees and I would guess had a reserve at £30k. Tate Ward will have not wanted to be the only house to fail to sell a Banksy in the last 6 months so my view is that's what he will have got.
Fair? No its worth more in my view.
Why? Selling is fraught with danger at auction (aside from this one being a terrible from a process point of view) and like everything planning is key. Selling this piece when 8 (including this one) have already been through Auction in the last 8 months is always going to be tough and the hard close on the online auction did not help it.
Looking forward to December, the same will happen selectively at the Forum, Bonhams and Phillips Auctions. Watch Bar Code slow, we haven't seen one for ages and now these next 3 will bring the total to 7 that have surfaced in 3 months. When a boom happens there is plateau after a lot of sellers appear and as a result some pieces will be over sold in the market.
So before everyone talks Trolleys (B&W) down to £10k again (its a brilliant piece), we are not going to see the end of the price increases just selective pausing for breath. I'd definitely be a holder rather than a seller for the next 6 months. So if your the person selling Trolley (B&W) who started this thread put it back on the wall where it should be and sell it next Spring time, if at all!

Someone like Lee3 would know better than me but I believe auction prices tend to be seasonal and selling at this time of year (nov-feb) doesn’t achieve the best results. (No data to hand to back this up)

Just to clarify this is a separate print which was already consigned. The one from the previous sale went straight away as an aftersale.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by robo on Nov 27, 2020 15:03:26 GMT 1, I was pretty sure it would quickly sell in after sales.
Very weird that jamesrodriguez has dissed Tate Ward, cast aspersions in the value of this print, and then deleted his account.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by dwight on Jan 2, 2021 23:55:29 GMT 1, This print is worth more than $75k. I think $90k-$100k to a non-broker buyer. This is a highly desirable image and edition so I'd be quite sure about the valuation before selling. Any major auction house would accept this consignment...probably with a zero seller's commission. You should keep this print.

Thanks for this info. Very helpful. I never explored the possibility of selling it. I grabbed this back in 08’ I believe. I had the chance to buy this and a Nola. I only bought the trollies. The dude was selling the Nola for 5 or 6k usd. I can’t remember whether it was a Nola with rainbow or white paint, but I am kicking myself for not buying both.

Is it the LA version or the POW version?
I think there were 50 signed LA prints and 100 signed POW prints. Apart from the variations between the two images, the LA print was signed with a regular graphite pencil with the old style signatue, the POW version signed with a coloured pencil using the more recent signature.
I suspect the LA version will command a bit more of a premium due to there only being 50 signed.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by JFCC on Jan 3, 2021 11:32:59 GMT 1, The obvious point here that it's the biggest Banksy series which will hold it back slightly, but that said it is still in my opinion one of the best.
If its a signed LA Modern Multiples its the best to have very few were sold signed certainly even with AP/PP's less than 50. I sense that's unlikely from your post.
The POW B&W was a 150 run and coloured 750 with the Bethlehem 28 finishing the series.
Therefore looking at recent form of the coloured version the most likely current spread today is c.£75k -95k at Auction. If you are a seller this equates to c.£65-75k.
Crossing the "magic" £100k mark is difficult but I'd have thought that the B&W Trollies will achieve that. So my view today, subject to condition which is pretty key as we all know, B&W signed is c.£75-85k ($103 - $116k) as a seller which is about £100k+ ($136k) at Auction.

I don't think the POW B&W was a 150 run. Modern Multiples produced 100 of each of the Barely Legal prints. I believe 50 were sold signed and the other 50 were unsigned. If that is what happened then the POW signed editions are no more than 100 in total.
I have a signed LA version of Trolleys and it's numbered in the 30's out of 150.

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by JFCC on Jan 3, 2021 12:37:55 GMT 1, I am pretty sure that there were the following issued, but equally I am happy to learn new information.
From my understanding there were 100 U/S LA Modern Multiples issued. It had been proposed 500 were to be released but it did not happen. On top of that there thought to be 50 signed AP/PP's. None were formally sold and they just "seeped" on to the market slightly untracked, so if you have one it seems the numbering is out of sync with the what is referenced in the market, I'd love to see it.
POW later definitely issued a slightly different variant, it obviously only had one blind stamp and the tool on the hunter on the right hand side changed shape. They issued the following, although there were some PP/AP's on top:
500 U/S B&W 150 signed B&W 28 Bethlehem
Happy to learn otherwise?

Banksy • Trolley Hunters, by JFCC on Jan 3, 2021 12:49:48 GMT 1, Ive been offered a two coloured Trollies over the last week for £65k so the prices seem to be stabilising and rightly so. Ball park for this IMO between £60-70k privately. Are these still available? If so please put me in contact with the sellers. I have seen 2 B&W unsigned at those prices.
As to my own personal view, price growth actually seem to be continuing and will continue in the traditional trend we have seen upwards. The last part of last year saw good strong growth as against the surge that we saw in the mid year and Autumn.
My own view is we will continue as we have seen historically growth of at least 20-30%, they will not stop growing or fall back, but we will see when we have had the first few major auction house results in.
Just my own views 🤷🏻♂️

Additionally, there were a small number of PP signed sets.
There were no AP's released in LA.
Yeah, edition of 6 signed PPs.
Mine is definitely a signed LA print numbered in the 30's and is from the edition of 150. Has PC COA so it's legit. I thought that the first 50 fron the edition were all signed but only PC will know for sure.

Thanks, I had heard 50 LA signed, but I had been led to believe that included AP and PP's but I think it's fair to say nobody is entirely sure as it was, at best, a little chaotic at the time, apparently.
Whilst I am not sure 100% on the existence or otherwise of specific AP's of Trolleys I do 100% know there were 10 AP's and 6 P'P's of Festival and Sale Ends, so I have always been led to believe these were from complete sets?
One of the posts from Silvermyn above states he has a signed LA which is from a numbered series of 150?
