DFace • Her Royal Hideous, HRH Lenticular, by manchestermike on Nov 22, 2007 23:44:34 GMT 1, Do you know if these are the ones to be made available through the BRP website? Gonna make a Banksy release seem like a birthday party if it is.
apparently 10 were left at 9pm
There will be two paper editions through BRP in December

The lenticular is amazing, I've seen it up close for a while and it is amazing. The acrylic PopTarts are to be honest out of this world, all a different colour so each unique.

There's something beautiful about a screenprint but with hand-done spray paint it makes the difference - a bit like Save My Soul. If I was offered both, side by side I must admit I would go for the print. If anyone has splashed out tonight and want to let their POW version go please PM me.

That's like saying the Rolls Royce Angel is dead in the water. It's all about decomposition and his trademark symbol. Thats is iconic in the street art world!

What has he done special here? Milking a picture that is years old by applying a lenticular effect... Sorry but nothing new here or special. As a matter of fact rather disappointing.

have to disagree, this raises the bar and to be honest will imo go down as a print to own similar to Banksy's CWS, Radar Rat, etc. It is brilliantg to look at, amazingly well executed and probably the most in demand image of the moment.

Water, Sea and Buildings extrude at angles with the horizon square being flat. When you move from side to side the perspective changes.

DFace • Her Royal Hideous, HRH Lenticular, by leehambly on Nov 23, 2007 0:29:08 GMT 1, I'm only going from the photos above, but the finish and effect of this make me think pretty much everything else I've seen is fairly limited in comparison (not seen other lenticular prints, other than the kind that come free with shreddies - why is Tom & Jerry not on the telly anymore???)... I've liked Dface in the past, from a browsing perspective, but this is the first that has made me literally sit up and take notice... I sold an unsigned Banksy piece for around this price earlier in the week and imho there is simply no contest in pure unadulterated object desirability, however much I might like Banksy.

I also bought a Blek Le Rat and a Nick Walker - it was a really good show.
If I knew how to post pics here I would

I read that 'something special' was coming but took it with a pinch of salt.
I've no idea why they all didn't go tonight, I think this piece is going to be at #1 on a lot of peoples wishlist. One of the best I have seen.
More photos would be great if you can get them.

DFace • Her Royal Hideous, HRH Lenticular, by mitchneo on Nov 23, 2007 1:17:41 GMT 1, I had the privilege of seeing this D*Face H.R.H in the flesh and it was stunning. Innovative and bold. Also some guy managed to get hold of a signed cli-che collage print one-off which was rumored to be incredible, if the pop-tart collages are anything to go by then this will be a great print. D*face is the next big thing. This showed proved he is here to stay!

DFace • Her Royal Hideous, HRH Lenticular, by cheapwetsuit on Nov 23, 2007 1:53:55 GMT 1, So it's time to give my opinion ... and doubtless there'll be more to follow. First off, I love this edition. Canis Servo Regina and Dog Save The Queen in the same picture? Brilliance. BUT ...
1. Sour grapes cos I didn't really have £1200 lying around in the kitchen cupboard. 2. The hologram (although a cool idea) cheapens it ... makes it seem like some "Made in China" toy Empire States Building thingamabob. 3. I would rather have an 'original' DSTQ print on those colours (the blue and the red on the flag were sharp). 4. For £300 more I could have had one of those original Pop Tarts that were littering the right-hand wall. The stark yellow on the far right was a keeper. I wish I was Steve McLaren.
So to summarise ... after 20 minutes of second-guessing myself ... saying do I want this print badly enough to be in the red (ie. miss the pub) for the next few months, I came to the conclusion that Nick Walker had done a better job marketing his "The Morning After (London Version)" print, and picked one of those up for about £300. Although I'm not a fan of his ... yet ... this is his best series by far, and the image has really grown on me, kind of like the Arctic Monkeys.
Still, I must confess, I am disappointed. I would be much happier now if I had a "Her Hideous Majesty" hanging on my wall. But I must confess that, in economics talk, my utility has been maximised by the fact that I have listened to my common sense and not splashed out on a print that is by all accounts a radio-friendly unit-shifter.
It's not art. It's a party piece. Bah humbug.

Not too mention the McCarthy was only $35! What's that? 15 quid for you guys? I framed it myself saving all sorts of money, and it STILL cost 4x more to frame than the print!
