Oli Epp π¬π§ Post-Digital Pop β’ New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by Pavoni on May 29, 2018 2:20:52 GMT 1, Another one up now, from London. 38 bids. 310 GBP. 5 days left. Love the print, got refunded. Not getting one this way.
"Perfect condition" (perhaps in the eye of the beholder):
Minor damage, will frame out blah blah blah. But let's save the word "perfect" for when it applies.

It's a nice looking print but I don't really understand why the bottom border is so vast, looks a little odd to me.

I would guess, but donβt know, that itβs a throw back to when pieces were mounted and framed like that. My understanding is that mounts used to have a larger bottom space because pieces were hung high, rather than at eye level, and it was to correct the illusion created that the top edge was longer than the bottom. I think it then rather became a fashion. Some framers still do this I believe.

I think it's more that visually, if you completely centre a print, your brain makes you feel the bottom boarder is smaller... So they purposely make it larger and it feels more comfortable. This print seems to have taken it a bit far though!

Oli Epp π¬π§ Post-Digital Pop β’ New Painting β’ Art For Sale, by SchrΓΆdinger's Chat on May 29, 2018 17:09:03 GMT 1, I think Happyshopper summed up my point really. I'm familiar with a larger border at the bottom of a print or whilst framing, but I could turn the bottom of this print into a tray to eat my Big Mac and Fries out of, and still leave a reasonable border!

For those asking about frames, this is a thin and small grain wood, in a charcoal colour, which has a very very slight 'midnight blue' kind of tint to it, without it being black, it helps the hat stand out rather than just fade into the same layer as the frame

Framing looks great, just bought one on the secondry with a bit of a premium, dont usually feed flippers but there isnt an abundance of them for sale.
