Honestly I've thought about this plenty of times before and discussed it among collectors.  

He's a writer from TSL and a banger. Now he's catapulted into stardom and a 'high-end" artist thanks to a $ backer and unarguable talent. 

I can't help but think these types of outlandish headlines won't negatively effect his sales.  The ones of beating up women, sure yes, but smashing pots at a gallery...will just add to his persona and in the long term just be a story told explaining how eccentric he is when trying to flip a large $100K canvas.

Not sure when he signed up to be a role model for anyone though, nor why any of you need to constantly express your dislike of him (duly noted though as this is a forum) but I hope that all the haters harshly evaluate all the art they own and remove artists from their collection who are struggling with anything.

That being said, if anyone is morally opposed to keeping one of their Retna originals on their wall hit me up. I would love to add some more to my collection.

Thanks but sorry I am not looking to purchase any from a gallery. His originals that were never sold through a gallery have much more interesting stories... stolen, given in return for something, purchased from a friend of a friend - or my personal favorite - I found it. Thug life

When the bad violent behavior happens regularly and the excuse is always sorry I was drunk or something similar.

It gets to the point when people start assuming the guys an ahole and knows what he is doing and taking people for idiots by apologising afterwards.

I guess it makes no difference to the dealers or galleries though a long as he sucks up to the right people.

For my eyes and ears, much of the best work is produced by artists who are self destructive. But, there is a HUGE difference between one who is harmful to themselves as opposed to physically abusive to others who can't possibly defend themselves.

Clearly times have changed as you can cozy up to any old film noir movie scene (i recommend Asphalt Jungle) where women are belittled and smacked around for show by their male counterparts. But this day in age (thankfully), it's worse than unacceptable to most. We all have our faults but I don't understand how anyone can look past his and find beauty in his art. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

I admire you for having a different viewpoint on this situation. However, I don't understand how you hope he would change without anything changing in his bottom line.  I think as a consumer of his art, you are capable of initiating change by hitting him where it hurts the most... his finances. I remember how Nike turned around on their use of child labor or when Tiffany & Co. started promoting conflict free diamonds because their consumers demanded that they do the right thing or risk losing support.

As far as addiction... you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped until they realize they need help, admit it, and want to change. Even being completely destitute doesn't break an addiction. I think you have tried to make something seem simple when it is far from simple.

The facts are that only two people know what happened that night in the hotel with Brittny and Retna. There was an argument, things were thrown, the room was trashed and it looked like she got a black eye (according to TMZ and paparazzi photos the next day or two when she shows up at a restaurant with paps always there and she just happened to not be wearing any makeup - which is really odd). I do not know what happened, so I have no idea why everyone seems to know she got beat up. Where are the facts? How do you know? How is he guilty? Everything about this is hearsay... and I severely doubt that anyone would want to be judged like they are judging him. Many seem to take that unfounded judgement they have made with no facts and use it to paint a more negative image of him and I do not understand it nor do i understand why they take the time to make sure everyone knows they hate him and his art. Seems like a witch hunt to me.

Do you ever read his IG meltdowns?  He threatens to beat and kill people on a semi regular basis revolving around idiotic ganbanger beefs and whoever else he is pissed at that day.  He built his own negative image, no one is making unfound judgments.

I do not think many people realize that he basically came from nothing and people who knew him back then all knew he had the drive to be a famous artist. I doubt any are surprised with his success. He will get where he wants to be and the little taste that he has only fuels it more.

Sorry... you are correct ...not all talk, but much of it is. Thug yes... i doubt many would debate that - and he still thrives on it and wants everyone to know.

I have seen him quite a few times in person in different situations... and you know what... the dude is really menacing to the point where I wouldn't say anything to him... even hello. Still love his work and often will drive out of my way to pass some of his murals around town - especially the pieces done with Mac.

BTW this isn't Bill Cosby with 30+ women coming forward kind of situation with the same exact story, but you would never guess that by the way people talk on here.
