The Next BIG THING in Art?, by Daniel Silk on Nov 4, 2017 5:54:21 GMT 1, Who do you think will be the hot artist within the next year?
Artists seem to go in and out out of fashion on here very fast now, sometimes it's just a month or two when everyone seems to be wanting to buy art by a particular artist. Invader seems to be the one at the moment, but who you you think is next?
I think a year or two ago the scene was looking a little dull with many copycat artists, but now it all feels much more healthy and exciting.
Parra seems to have the right idea how to do things, lots of things available on his site, some affordable also, and he has a very strong and recognisable style. Certainly has the potential to become massive.

The Next BIG THING in Art?, by cyberkid on Nov 4, 2017 15:24:18 GMT 1, I would mention the entourage from Kaws (he is breaking all records...) - artists like Josh Sperling and Sam Friedman. Asia will be more and more important for the new artists. A rising star is Tomoo Gokita from Japan. Check the current show by Mary Boone.
Other artists....mentioned (many times) here on the board are Pejac, Pantone, Muretz, Oli Epp, Okuda, PEZ etc...

The Next BIG THING in Art?, by gd79 on Nov 4, 2017 16:04:02 GMT 1, It's no one that gets mentioned on this forum. Chances are at least. We've had our day.
JR is an artist that seems to have a real mastery of social media, which is where the next battles will be fought
Graphic art seems to be on the rise as well
24ct gold paint hand finished special editions have definitely had their time

The Next BIG THING in Art?, by oldraver on Nov 4, 2017 16:07:33 GMT 1, Its all down to personal tastes, and not hyping, that would be a good start for any artist, not overhyping or starting threads about them, as its a false representation of what will apparently be the next "Big thing", when in fact they won't be, just hearsay and forum gossip based on what such and such has bought last week.

Or a humorous response to another pointless high flyer comment.... as if anyone buys art based on the sex of the artist!!
