I'm not suggesting yours is not a genuine offer but for the forum members I think it's worth mentioning that there are a load of fakes sloshing around and even some of the genuine Valium's suffer from "disappearing" signatures. If you need help on any of these points David at Eyestorm is very helpful.

Some friends of mine bought a Valium from ebay, drove miles to collect it then took it to Eyestorm to check it out. Even though it had a certificate the pic was produced on a paper that the original wasn't. Also there is a very subtle way of checking if it is real which Eyestorm keep to themselves. For a while Sotheby's wouldn't touch Valiums. The Ebayers who sold many of these prints gave a refund. They should have been locked up.

This is no bootlegging scheme.

I love the image, i don't have £15,000 spare to buy one so i thought with help of a high res original, i will try and paint one myself. Its as simple as that.

I'm sure i can work it out without the image, though i wanted one to help me get the crazy spot pattern correct.

I know he is not particularly popular around here, but I really like Damein Hursts Spot prints. Valium, LSD, etc.
Does anyone know if any of these prints were available unsigned?
Are any of these affordable, sub £2k?
Is there a complete list of spot prints anywhere?
Who publishes Hirst prints?

Opium and LSD are the cheaper, larger editions (of 500 & 300 respectively) released by Eyestorm in 2000.

Both are available at www.eyestorm.com/search/keyword/_/hirst
but are not cheap (£5.5k for Opium and £10.5k for LSD) and the nicer ones are the large etchings which were in editions of about 75 or so, which are typically £12k+ on the secondary market.

other criteria is a good place to look. hirst did some newer dot prints last year, with metallic backgrounds. some are still pretty affordable. not nearly as cools as lsd, but hirst none the less. id be very cautious buying from the secondary market, and many many very good fakes are out there.

The Hirst skull prints (the dead) are stunning in the flesh (so to speak). Last I heard the numbers were getting low and a price increase was likely at some point.

The best investments imo are the prints produced by Paul Stolper or Paragon Press. Ive got 'The Soul On Jacobs Ladder' by Paul Stolper and a spin print from In a Spin Vol II folio from Paragon Press and both are amazing in the flesh.

I think they will just all sell out rather than price hike? Looks like 8 out of the 15 have sold out at OC . One step too far for me budget wise but I will still regret not getting one.

The bronze, silver and gold may be the last of the spot prints. (The silver's very nice try to get to see them).
