I’m not sure if someone trying to sell an odd format work during Covid is a good indicator of a market down. It seems there is a fair amount of dumping (of all artists)here and elsewhere by those needing funds for other real life purposes. Having followed FAILE here for 10 years, they never had big flip potential due to frequent releases, size of editions and reasonable market pricing. Is their style one that could run its course? Absolutely. Their attempts to stray from their style haven’t been successful. But they have taken clip art to new levels.

I agree that they are fantastic.  They pioneered this category and deserve recognition for their early influence.  That alone should give them more status.  They've had major shows all over the world at well respected museums and institutions.  

But somehow there is zero secondary market for their works which leaves me confused.  How can there be zero secondary market for such an iconic collective?  I don't think Christies or Sothebys would accept even a strong Faile canvas consignment.  Am I wrong?

I didn't know any had been auctioned recently. Guess I should have searched that, but based on those prices realized, I doubt they would take another unless it was bundled with other quality items in the consignment. Thanks for the information.

I just wonder when Faile won't be able to sell anything no matter how appealing or high quality. It's really sad. I'd love to be proved wrong and shown why they are actually thriving, but I can't see how that could be true.
