sorry if this wasn't your thing. don't need to go into the print release thread and keep ranting on about why you think the print/release sucks
you really expected them to give a Conor Harrington print away for free? okay lol
the price was very reasonable, all things considered

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by Deleted on Jul 21, 2017 13:26:50 GMT 1, They had some left over gift prints that were not given away, so sold them, its that simple. May of been a nice idea to raffle these rather than charging, or do an charity type thing where you buy a ticket to win a print
HM and Art on a Postcard tried that and still got abuse from some folks.

Frankly, I'm not bitter. Just that the recent few releases had me thinking if most people buy into anything as long as that artist is a proven bluechip stock, or do they really like the work or enjoy the piece that much. Whoever think £220 for a digital A4 printout is a bargain is in a very comfortable stage in life I must say.

Other far bigger and better Harrington`s go for around £600 so I think your estimation of £1000 is well off the mark - its sub £500 (on a good day)

Just a guess of course.

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by seanburke on Jul 21, 2017 17:13:36 GMT 1, Ignoring price and printing - what do people think of the image??
I hope he does more of this "darker" style - I've a few CH prints and ADORE them, but this (and the HarveyN OG) are a little more subtle and menacing imo.
As for the "left over prints" argument, as discussed these were super hush hush and only given to actual family and friends as a thank you for support while making the book. I think it makes these prints even more special!

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by mla on Jul 21, 2017 17:21:08 GMT 1, As stated early on, I'm a fan of the image itself. It has a more dark and disturbing vibe than a lot of his recent output and I quite like the change of pace. Regarding size, not everything has to be enormous. The print here is fairly true to the original, being only marginally smaller in size, as to not distort the image. This will be a cheap frame and a very cost effective way to get a piece from someone I consider to be a world class artist up on the wall.

New Conor Harrington, Monday Morning Glory, by DameHoracia on Jul 21, 2017 19:17:12 GMT 1, It's a giclee. Happily, financially speaking, that makes it a miss for me. I came to the party late so was also glad it was a giclee. I actually like the image I think it would have been wonderful as a screen print. Pity really I only own a few prints. Unless I win big time I won't own an original, more's the pity. Hey ho....Back to work.

Comments like this are kind of pointless though, yes? You're more or less describing the majority of forum members on this site lol - its very similar to the "people paying $20,000 for a piece of paper" comments.
We all know there is more to it than that, and that's why we're all here.
Everyone should just enjoy the art, and try not to judge the taste of others. And don't knock down a piece of art within a print release thread after other forum members have bought the art; anyone doing that is simply an asshole. People are trying to enjoy their art purchases.
Anyone who doesn't like the art discussed in this thread should go find a thread discussing art that they do like. Otherwise the thread devolves into what it is now.

Doesn't this canvas now belong to Sir Paul Smith and hangs in his Albermarle street store, above the stairs? Its a very similiar canvas if not and my memory serves me right.

Nope, similar but I'm pretty sure this canvas is owned by a forum member. It was posted earlier this year in the "latest purchase" thread...... the thread then went quiet for a few days..... 😃
