His museum originals of this imagery are also float mounted. Nothing is ever great after floating, you ever seen the amount of tabs that go onto the back of something this big?
I disagree that nothing is ever great after floating. I also trust Darbyshires to use the most professional methods to provide as little disturbance to the print as possible.
I think for an amateur framer you may be right, but I trust the best in the business.

No, the one i had done was not an amateur framer, it was one from this site (and it was not pfg)
i looked at the back and was shocked. It was only an a3 print size as well. You can never undo those properly so its the last framing method i would use. Why do you want the print stuck with tabs all over the place? It leaves marks when undone as well.
sorry to say, but framing devil in the US is another culprit of using framers tape everywhere.

Sure - it was just my personal experience.
ive since discovered ways to frame things with mark that are to my taste, without mounts or floating.
but thats my taste so its your call. Ive seen some beautifully float mounted things but im just not comfortable with tacking or pulling the paper on the rarer prints

Lid is also stapled to the tube. Inside everything looks ok - yes, thats acid free paper in the middle. Can't wait to bring it to my framer tonight!
