New Banksy - UK Election Souvenir Special, by Deleted on Jun 12, 2017 13:44:47 GMT 1, I imagine most Banksy print owners are conservatives. Bet he loves that! It's an interesting one.
Somebody could make a graph depicting which type of people bought Banksy prints at the beginning when they were first released up to today and selling at SotheBonBons auction houses and posh wanky galleries and out of posh Lenny Vitton suburban Notting Hilltop suitcases.
I would imagine early days they were bought by people who appreciated the art rebel graffiti aspect behind the art. Probably socialist types. As prices went up, the parasites swarmed in worked together built up portfolios talked a language that working class people could not decipher and became a lien between the art being described as investment and uber rich celebrities with money to invest with a guilt conscience who felt socially aware by buying a print for tens of thousands.

Most Banksy owners are successful. Sorry about that btw. I do try and dumb down however as I'm sick of being talked about like I'm a baby eating monster for having the temerity to have a few quid. Didn't vote for Labour or Tory either.

New Banksy - UK Election Souvenir Special, by Cocteau 101 on Jun 12, 2017 18:38:27 GMT 1, People need to get off his case, most of his art over the years has been about activism or societal attitudes. This was no different if a little ill conceived. And yes he rehashed one of his most popular images probably for that very reason.
And all this socialist / conservative shit is nonsense, you can still have a socialist outlook and history despite your current standing in the world. As I've said before it's surely based on principles.

New Banksy - UK Election Souvenir Special, by Slammer on Jun 12, 2017 19:28:54 GMT 1, IMO his goal was a call to action in the vote, not gifting prints. So I don't think it can be seen as a failure. I'd bet Most that would have voted his suggested way for a print probably did so without the reward as well. I just wish he would have gone through with it. Lots of the golden oldies on here talk about how the forum used to be blah blah etc. I bet in 2000-2009 banksy would have just gone through with it and not given two fucks what pc plod and the electoral commission thought. Shame he now seems to care, maybe it's the dosh he's earnt. Or maybe the police have a line on him? In Exit through the gift shop Banksy describes the decision to not go through with the 'Di faced tenners' for legal reasons. So I think he set a precident for himself with regards law in the UK.

Lol.
So posting to your website that you are releasing a print for people to vote how you would like. To then remove it and cancel it. To then disappear into the night.
What a great piece of art. Ha
Man if I was a real artist with real ideas that I make happen and releasing real art I'd be pissed.

New Banksy - UK Election Souvenir Special, by Slammer on Jun 26, 2017 21:58:25 GMT 1, Does it seem a bit strange to anyone that the Government bribe the DUP to vote with the Conservatives on key issues(by giving them one billion pounds).
But Banksy can't offer a free print to a few people to vote against the Conservatives.
It seems a bit off to me.

But Banksy can't offer a free print to a few people to vote against the Conservatives. It seems a bit off to me. £100 million per vote in the commons.
If this spending was fairly proportioned across the UK (£1Bn is 3% of NI economy) it equates to over £50Bn of extra spending.
I know it's not as simple as this but I work in a charity that is mainly funded by govt. organisations and in the last 6 years our budgets have been cut by 25% for the greater good of deficit reduction.
Cash for power so you can continue to slash services. A fecking disgrace.
