If you keep the damaged print they will give you a 100e rebate. Or you can return it damaged for a full refund. That's what I've understood from comments here

^^ That`s how I understand it! They don`t have replacements so if you really want the print you have to accept the damage and take the 100E refund. Personally it would not feel right spending that sort of money and ending up with a damaged print so I would return for a full refund.

It sounds like quite a high number of these were damaged, whilst the materials used were sturdy enough, I do think they could of been stronger, some foamboard would of been more appropriate, as for not securing the print within the flat packing, that is an amateur error (that I am sure they will not make again), so simple to do, but when its not done many have seen the problems it creates.

Having seen the prints in real life I do agree with others, however they were created they are probably some of her best prints, the Black and White is surprisingly nice, and the coloured print is just mesmerising!

^ true, though if it was edge damage some had,they should mount out and the 100e could be used towards framing

The ones at Laz are so much better value than this mishap.... at least you know you well get it in a1 condition from them....

Thankfully, my coloured edition arrived in perfect condition and is easily in the top three pieces of art that I own..... Really feel for those whose pieces have been damaged...

I know a couple of people with damaged prints , somehow mine was ok but this sucks for those with damaged prints, the refund is piss poor and should be minimum 30% or full refund. 100 Euro won't cover the cost of repair if possible.
Well looks like the gallery will lose a lot of forum members custom over this.
On the positive the thread is off the type of printing medium

Feel really sorry for those that have received the prints damaged, i hope you manage to sort something out with the gallery.
Luckily I received mine undamaged and will be passing it to Misterframeman very soon. Whatever the print process, those that have seen this in person realise how beautiful these prints are in the flesh.

Just heard back from Christian at Avant and they offered to cover the cost of restoration, so I'm looking into that. Definitely don't want to send them back from a refund, they're WAY to nice...easily some of the nicest prints I own. He seemed genuinely upset by the whole situation and was very polite and accommodating. I definitely think they'll learn from this and hopefully won't run into this with any future releases.

The sad thing is the boxes were actually great and well thought out! Just a little shallow and the prints needed taping in place. All of the avant guys have been fabulous and the critism regarding the complex print technique was a bit lame. I'm a fan of the set up after my first purchase from them..both mine arrived perfect so got lucky there.

Well, for those of you who got damaged prints, at least this didn't happen to you:

Long story short, my fiance left some oily residue on the table.  It got onto the paper that I was using to protect the art and over time seeped through the paper onto the artwork.

It is RUINED!  






I should have put it back in the tube.  A very expensive lesson learned.  Now what the hell am I going to do with it?

in fairness the gallery have been very good and have already processed the refund. Just a shame there wasn't a spare one kicking about as really liked this print moreso than some of his previous releases! Maybe I should have just pointed out I would have happily settled for the original rather than the refund!!

Would certainly deal with the gallery again as they have been very quick to respond!

Can some one please post a pic of damage as mine had been recalled from FedEx before delivery in Oz and it has been damaged, but I dont get to make a informed decision on if a get total refund or partial refund after viewing the damage.

Since you have nothing to lose now, try sprinkling a substantial amount of corn starch powder onto the affected spots for a day or two on a flat surface ( or even longer) and see if it helps reduce the appearance of the spots by the absorption. I have had success using this method to remove damp spots from a print in the past. At least if it looks better, you might still be able to frame and hang it up.

I am really sorry to hear that so many prints have been damaged in transit. I was fortunate to receive mine in mint condition especially as the box was severely damage and I thought that there was no way that the print would have survived. I have shared some photos with you to illustrate the damage to the packaging and how it reduces in size as the layers are stripped away. Without knowing that print corners had been damaged, I would have proclaimed this as one of the finest packaged items I have received.

I'm just repacking mine ready to go to the framers, does anyone know if the foam was on top of the print between the paper and print or on top of the paper "envelope"?
