Hi guys,

After many years of enjoyment, we need to let go of our original Obey Elephant HPM. The reasons are financial. And no doubt you know what this image is.

Anyhow, we are the original owners of this art and looking for a good home for it.

It is an original piece and not a print, litho or photo.

Provenance in the form of a Certificate of Authenticity from the OBEY FINE ART EDITIONS. Work was commissioned to us and our company. We have the painting in hand and ready to ship. 

Piece is framed professionally (Frame-o-rama) here in California, under UV plexi and will be shipped accordingly. We are looking for a local deal in California or shipping in the US. We will consider international shipping but would rather not do it.

Asking starting price : $80K USD negotiable.

We are aware of the demand for this image and wanted to open up to collectors on here. For full transparency, if we can't get a number that we like, we will seek other selling options.

I'm pretty sure this piece is in "this is the end" in Franco's house. Maybe he owns one of the 5? Good luck on the sale, I think your gonna have to take it to bonhams to get anywhere near that asking price, but who knows!

I remember stopping by Jonathan Levine in NYC in 2013/2014 and an original set of 3 collage canvases of the classic Obey/Andre face was going for $100K. With that in mind, I think 80K for one paper collage is a bit steep. Granted, a few years can significantly alter prices.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents. It is a beautiful piece, so glws.

We wanted to give you an update on where we are at with this piece.

After much discussion, several possible sales and even more homework, we feel it would be best to open the piece up for your offers. We have received a lot of inquiries and, to be honest, it's been dizzying.

Associates in the field have told us we are too high (80K) and a few even said we were too low (?). In fact, people on here tried to help with pricing...and we thank you.

Again, as we all know, everyone has their price. And, yes we did look at many of the auctions out there and we did see some relevance. To be clear, we know who owns two other Elephants. And we have been in contact with them as well to be fair about the overall price gage.

For full transparency, our formula has been to adhere strictly to logical price deduction. This includes factoring recent auctions (sans fees), Shepard's PR behind the image, the piece execution / series run, age, and market comparables. You get the point.

Oh and for those asking, we are based in Los Angeles & San Francisco.
