www.Expressobeans, by ricosg11 on Feb 17, 2007 8:25:42 GMT 1, I am a frequent user of that site. A forum like this but it has a price guide and auction histories for individual prints. Kind of like a price guide for prints. I noticed today that they added a bunch of banksy prints. If you guys could add auctions from ebay when you see em. It will keep a log of all past sales. Great tidy place for info.

Just thought I'd help your thread get some comments by stirring!

www.Expressobeans, by Yessir on Feb 17, 2007 14:34:07 GMT 1, I think you ARE in the WRONG Sausageboonwee...
Answer me this, how many members who own Banksy prints, which were purchased a couple of years ago, for say £50 and are now worth thousands , would now be prepared to sell on at that same price of £50, all because of the "LOVE OF ART"?.
I love art, I also own a lot of art and I only buy art that I like, not for capital appreciation, but at the end of the day good/limited/rear art has the potential to become a valuable commodity.
Its simple, a lot people want a Banksy = demand = the higher the demand = the higher the value = on disposal of your Banksy you will not take less than £600 and for a rear one £5000+.
Now as I said before you cannot find me one person who would go against the above and under sell their Banksy because of as you say the "LOVE OF ART"
Find me anywhere someone who has sold a signed Banksy for the price of the same unsigned version, for example signed Banksy Love Rat £2000+ / unsigned Banksy Love Rat £600. Person decide because of "THE LOVE OF ART", they are prepared to sell their signed Banksy Love Rat, for the the price of an unsigned one. I DON'T THINK SO......

Knowing how much I liked the work, someone (you know who you are) recently sold me a copy of Flags for half it's current ebay price. So I'm affraid your moral code doesn't extend to everyone.. There's still a certain amount of honour amongst collectors, especially ones who have been collecting for a while and dealing with each other, there's a massively underestimated social side of dealing with Banksy and his network of fans and collectors.. and I supsect due to the content of the work, that many who buy it generally have a more honest and open approach to the "biznizz" of art than those who collect "contemporary" art in general.. so yes, in some cases people do sell and trade for less than current market value..
Probably not to you now though

Just as a reference so you know what to pay when you have to shell out in the aftermarket. Feel free to add al the art you can to the site. It will benefit everyone. for ex: all the pow artists.

www.Expressobeans, by tadghostal on Feb 17, 2007 19:37:38 GMT 1, I have some genuine Enron preferred stock certificates that have beautifully designed and complex artistic embellishments on them. Not only are they gorgeous when properly framed and displayed in your living room, but you will have twice the conversations as any other piece of art--among your visually attuned friends, you can discuss the virtues of color balance, font selection, and beautiful use of negative space. Among your pop-culture friends, you will have a prized piece of historical scandal proudly displayed and ready to start fiery discussions about the virtues and vices of pseudo free-financial markets. What fun!
Seeking to lessen the level of excitement in my living room, and willing to trade said ENRON limited edition prints for a signed Banksy Flying Copper or Grin Reaper. Don't wait on this, lest you'll be kicking your own backside soon enough for having dawdled and missed out on this rare opportunity.
Cheers!
PS, if this made you smile, do youself a favor and help keep me around by showing me a little respect. After having read the thread on who its safe to trade with, it would be nice to have at least a couple of stars beneath my name for christs sake.
Thanks

It made me smile and you got a respect.. let's say it was earned rather than given. Thought onbly rappers asked for respect as oppossed to earning it
BTW : the gold stars are based on your number of posts, not generally related to your respect score or quality of content.

Got it. Thanks for the respect, and thanks for the tip. As you can see, I listen carefully, and am already taking action on your advice with a new post! But this isn't just some vainglorious attempt at earning my lietenant's rank, I actually have something to say.
And that is, there are only a handful (OK, more like 10,000 or so, give or take a few) of the genuine ENRON certificates that are nearly *guarnateed* to appreciate from their current value. If there are no owners of a Flying Copper or Grin Reaper who can see the value here, then anybody who needs paper for personal hygene uses could find none better! And think of the chuckles you'll have every time you wipe your ass with stocks!
"Here's what I think of your stocks Mr. Wall Street p*ick!"
ha ha ha! What fun.
Seriously, still need to find a Grin Reaper for 2300-2500 pounds. Anybody willing/able to help a yank out? (or a flying copper--btw, how much are those suckers worth?) Please PM me on this last bit, as I don't think it would be appreciated on this thread. Thank you!
RE: Expressobeans--This site is *extremely* useful for those of us who are Obey/Giant fans, but that is primarily because of the volume of prints in existence and being traded. It might not be quite as useful for Banksy, but what the hell--considering that as of right now the best resource seems to be ebay historical sales data, pretty much anything else is an improvement.
