FOR SALE: Pure Evil – ‘New Logo for the Hackney Looting Team, by magentia on Apr 12, 2017 13:16:17 GMT 1, FOR SALE: Pure Evil – ‘New Logo for the Hackney Looting Team’ (2011), signed limited edition of 200.
Silkscreen, 6 colour screen print on 300gsm Fedrigoni paper.
Measuring 72cm x 72cm. Mint. Unframed, stored flat and provided flat in protective cardboard.
Original owner. Purchased from Art Republic upon release. Original receipt can be provided.
Looking for offers around £2k, which I reckon is a pretty fair reflection of its current value.
Collection in person from North London (N16) address.
Apologies in advance if I'm a bit slow to get back to any messages – I will reply though.

Since then Charlie has done one for Brazil, favela boy and one for the Russia games as well. Also the same lines with the Olympic Rings, but will different people each time. The Brazil and Russia editions are definitely cheaper than this one. For clarity I have a Brazil one I would let go at cost. The Hackney is the original, first In the style / series. Pure Evil did another edition with the guy but different message "you can't buy happeness steal it" with the guy nicking the I. Also a classic, but I think that was a car boot image.

The image was largely used on social media as a sign of the planned gentrification of east london as part of the Olympics, and was emblematic of the unrest and riots at that time.
For me this has got to be PE's absolute best piece (I don't own it btw) because it embodies the roots and very message of a lot of street art from those days
