Depends on what Brexit looks like and indeed if it happens. The pound did dip after the referendum but recovered and yo-yo'd a bit which i expect it will do quite often just as its done since recent resignations.

Brexit, by moron on Jul 11, 2018 22:06:44 GMT 1, Corbyn's an oddball. He is pro Brexit despite what he says and proved it during the Brexit campaign. Labour voters in Labour areas voted for Brexit and everyone blames the Tories just because Boris Johnson lied his fat gob off during the Brexit campaign and parasite Farage played with words to manipulate voters.
It's all Donald Trumps fault.

The GBP will devalue by a big percentage in order to create more non EU trade.
It all depends on the transition period and how drunk that bunch of corrupt bankers running the EU are.

Dear UK Forumites,
Theresa Mayโs plan to spend ยฃ120 million pounds(!) of public money on a โfestival of Brexitโ really takes the piss! Our country is staring down the barrel of a catastrophic no-deal Brexit that threatens jobs and the NHS, and the Prime Minister is busy planning a party to celebrate it?
Itโs her maddest idea yet -- and we donโt have to accept it. Letโs build a huge open letter calling on MPs to block Mayโs Brexitfest, and instead give the people the final say on Brexit with a new public vote!

"Dear MPs,
As you read this, 30% of Britainโs children are living in poverty. The number of rough sleepers in England is at a record high. And Brexit will make this even worse, threatening jobs, the economy and the NHS.
The promises of prosperity made by the Brexiteers have evaporated. There are no good Brexit options left. Instead of allowing public money to be wasted and our economy harmed, we call on you to protect the most vulnerable and support the British public having a democratic final say on Brexit, with an option to stay part of the EU.
Yous sincerely,"

Brexit, by Deleted on Oct 11, 2018 16:31:54 GMT 1, Although I don't like Brexit and voted to remain, I still don't agree with a so-called people's vote. I think people campaigning for one are on very dodgy ground. Our democracy revolves around voting for politicians to act on our behalf. We don't live in a direct democracy but a representational one. You could argue that the Brexiteers lied to us but most Brexit-voting people I know still want us to leave the EU and another vote would simply undermine our present democratic system. We should never have been given the vote in the first place, on such an important and far-reaching decision as leaving the EU. But now we have, the government (whether Tory or Labour) have to implement it.
Democracy is not all it's cracked up to be.

Brexit, by skAcid on Oct 11, 2018 17:17:25 GMT 1, skAcid where is the info on this festival please? Here you go Manty100
A series of attractions have already been planned for the event, including these:
โข No-flight simulator: Climb into a model cockpit and take your plane on a thrill-packed ride from the stand to the runway and back again when the required permits fail to come through.
โข Lemming Leap: Climb 300 feet up a full-scale model of the White Cliffs of Dover (height verified by Russian tourists) and jump off, pausing to congratulate yourself for taking back control of your money, your borders and your laws while plunging to certain death.
โข Boris Dancing: โจLearn how to perform the traditional steps while reciting colonialist poetry.
โข Fruit Farmville: Don a VR headset and board the virtual bus to a computerised fruit farm, where youโll spend the next 12 hours picking digital fruit. Incredibly lifelike (Ride duration: 1 day. No peeping).
โข Britainโs Most Red-Faced Man Competition
โข David Davisโ Chamber of Wilful Unpreparedness: Escape Room-type game in which you search a mock-up of DDโs DExEU office for his Brexit plan (Spoiler: There is no Brexit plan).
โข The Windrush experience: A Pirates of the Caribbean-style ride, departing from Tilbury Docks to an undisclosed destination in the sun (Ride duration: 1 month. No round trips).
โข Wheatfield runner: A super-naughty video game race in which you hide from the farmer through levels of increasingly sparse fields as the lack of EU subsidies begins to kick in.
โข Culmination of the BBC Forager of the Year contest
โข Embrace Oblivion roller coaster: Like the famous Alton Towers ride, this plummets from a great height rapidly downwards through a giant black hole in the ground. Unlike the famous Alton Towers ride, it then just keeps on going.
โข The tunnel of Gove: Iโm A Celebrity-style endurance test in which contestants crawl through a tube while bees, water voles, North Sea fish, free-range puppies and supermarket waste food are dropped on their heads.
โข Empty supermarket sweep: In tribute to the late Dale Winton, a fun scamper past bare shelves to locate the countryโs last croissant.
โจโข Red Arrows display: Watch the skies get covered in an unintelligible criss-cross of red lines.
โข Mechanical hormone-enhanced bull: Crazy farmer Liam Fox has given the traditional fairground mechanical bull an injection of steroids! The resultant G-force on your wild ride is enough to rip a man in two!
โข Lifesize statue of Buckingham Palace, made out of Spam.
โข Mario Kart, M20 edition: Nintendo tie-in. Choose your character, pick your crazy kart, rev your engines and sit in stationary traffic for several weeks.
โข Whack-a-mole: And then eat it for dinner.
Drinks can be taken in Nigel Farage-themed pub, The Dog & Whistle (alcohol only, smoking compulsory). There will โจbe a wide choice of catering options, as long as your choice happens to be Hog Roast.
The Festival of Brexit Britain is due to open in early 2021. So around winter 2027, then.

I think brexit will influence the art market. There may be some great art produced because there is turmoil. The expected economic downturn will put art including Banksy on the market, a crash perhaps of the lower end secondary market. Any economic/art effects when HRM passes?

This
He thought he would lose his nice job and figured he would play around a bit with the future of his country to save his own ass
Then he misjudged the outcome by a country mile when he decided not to campaign with much fervour
youโve got to admit though : seeing the 2 politicians who campaigned hardest to leave, wanting no part in making it happen when they eventually won...is quite unheard of for any politician.
And that in itself shows they all know itโs not going to look good

Brexit, by caruso on Oct 11, 2018 20:16:21 GMT 1, I agree it's insanity. But it is the insanity of the voting public, not the government, that caused this mess. Blame Mr. and Mrs. Joe Public not politicians. Karl Marx has a lot to answer for. I think Cameron has a great deal to answer for. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes right now. A political move turned into a major disaster in that it divided a nation. That wound will take time to heal.

Brexit, by Coach on Oct 11, 2018 20:53:40 GMT 1, I think Cameron has a great deal to answer for. Cameron, in calling for an Brexit referendum, was simply bowing to public pressure. ย It is not really his fault that the general public contains far too many ignorant, xenophobic Little-Englanders with a British colonialist mentality.
Thanks. I honestly donโt think he was. I believe it was to retain power for the Tories. He was, I believe, concerned about losing voters in favour of UKIP. A huge price to pay.

Brexit, by Coach on Oct 11, 2018 21:00:15 GMT 1, I think Cameron has a great deal to answer for. and Blair a great deal more.
I donโt disagree that Blair has a great deal to answer for too. Iโm genuinely not attempting to be partisan about this issue. Iโm firmly in the remain camp and always have been. I was quite vociferous about this in the run up to the vote here and with friends and colleagues. But I do hold Cameron to account for calling the referendum. I hold brexiteer mpโs to account for lying in the campaign. Iโm sadenned by the number of people that voted for it. I still think, though, that itโs a non partisan issue, and know many right leaning people, who I respect, that think Brexit is a very bad idea.
