maybe i'll win that and the free burger king the other new online gallery advertised here recently are giving away......nice way to ease off on the old bank balance!!

New online gallery, by dmandpenfold on Apr 23, 2007 14:25:52 GMT 1, agreed, i'm not keen on galleries that put P.O.A. as the price, why bother, i might be wrong but they will want a good price for the artwork so why mess about, if anything it would tend to put me off contacting the gallery
While i am it, some galleries tell you a higher price on the phone than they have on the web ("sorry we havent updated it yet") which is poor form too
bitch over

New online gallery, by Strange Al on Apr 23, 2007 14:51:05 GMT 1, They've certainly amassed some really nice stuff. Though that's no surprise, the site basically reads like a who's who of artists discussed on the forum (Beejoir - I'm pretty sure they'll have some of your stuff very soon). If this site isn't run by a forum member, I'll eat my hat.
Prices are very much in line with those of CampBarbara and other people who've started similar ventures. So no real suprise there. What's perhaps more suprising is that we haven't seen tons more web "galleries" of this type, given the market and amount of people flipping on ebay.
As for POA's, while I hate them too, I think they're to be expected these days. The market is just so fluid with prices fluctuating daily. While these people may well be into art, they want to make money in the end. There's little to be gained by selling an artwork at undervalue if you're a secondary dealer.

I don't see why people would buy from this gallery or camp barbara, when you can save so much money by buying elsewhere. Sure they've got to make a profit to run the business but they're not doing it with my money.

New online gallery, by romanywg on Apr 23, 2007 15:10:53 GMT 1, It's obviously run by the guy that started the thread. Just a week ago he was showing off his Mantis AP on the Financial Times and saying how much he loved it, now it's up for sale on this site! I just emailed about Victoria Femme Fatale which is still for sale from Will St Legers own site for Β£70 and this creep is selling them for Β£195. POA should read TOO FU**IN MUCH!

The full length one yes, but not the full face version, which was the one that I was talking about.
The one on ebay is the full length one if that's what you want.

Nor my money. Like you, it surprises me how little research people do when buying items; particularly, with the vast amounts of info available on the net these days. I can only assume the reason they buy from these types of "galleries" is laziness in most cases.
Respect for making people aware that many of these prints are available elsewhere at better prices, rather than seeing them waste their money. Though, if you're a buyer with plenty of money and little time - hipart or campbarbara may the places for you. Both have some lovely pieces.

New online gallery, by Tyler Durden on Apr 23, 2007 20:10:02 GMT 1, June gives you some time to look for another job though, doesn't it? After being ecstatic about getting hold of an ineed AP as you were, you could hold onto it until you haven't got more work / have secured that extra credit card / bank loan / sold the car / wife / child.. Or is art just too high on my priority list?
