Blancs-Manteaux Auctions , by phoj on Jan 26, 2017 17:40:31 GMT 1, As a positive update they did not manage to stop the 350 euros I got for promising to verify to the forum that I had been given a full refund (as I of course would have, had I actually been given a full refund), it arrived in my account today. So it is just 500 down the drain then. If you're in London, or can send it here, many people say good things about their restoring work: www.grahambignellstudio.co.uk/ Thanks mate, a bit far I've gotten a quote from someone I've used before, but no guarantees could be given to how good they could actually get it and so I might end up paying for something that won't end up well regardless.

Blancs-Manteaux Auctions , by phoj on Jan 27, 2017 11:05:34 GMT 1, So I see! And I believe the reviews have been from forumites
I think they are quite angry with me though. I was on a bender (like McNulty-style) yesterday and woke up to 13 (!) lost calls from a french number today - I think they've found my number...
Can't imagine they're calling to apologize....

It's up to the buyer and seller to resolve the condition damage issue and I don't know whether the seller accepted a partial refund or demanded to rescind the sale?
I guess it's ok though for some who promote political correctness and lecture others when it comes to money to show their true colors.

Well then you haven't really read this. Yes, I wanted to be refunded and send the print back, it is so damaged it is useless. The seller just ignored all requests for two months until I made the issue public.

Hence the drama on this thread mate.
I have actually been considering trying to phone french police, but I figure not much would be done from there anyhow

If the condition report said perfect condition, and when you got it, it was in damaged condition, not caused by the post office then just demand a refund.

You really haven't read a line of what was previosuly written here, have you? Well what do you think I have been doing since half an hour after I picked it up from the post office?
The point is that they accepted no other means of payment than direct bank transfer, and I have already been in contact with my bank and they could not do anything about it.
What then remains besides from reporting it to the police? This is why I reached out to the forum in the first place, to get some help with how I could get traction.

You can translate on Google or have a French speaker help you.
Where I am the police have a very bad reputation for being lazy and avoiding accepting complaints and also discrimination against non French particularly British. Altho they love Germans down here, go figure.
At least in Paris the police accept complaints in English.

You just fill out the complaint as in the online link. Google the adress of the Procureur in the part of paris or France you made the purchase. Print out the complaint and sign it ans send it registered direct to the Procureur at the address. Do not address it to the Procureur de la Republique, just the Procureur at their address for the town or post code you have the problem with. Send it recorded and wait. It's good if you get a fluent French speaker to help you. Although you can write in English.
The procureur might take action or might not.
Other way is civil action in France but there again it's dodgy if you are not au fait with French ways.
Online insults against the auction house could backfire too.
Plus there is the EU law about online sales.

Ergo buyers should examine goods before purchase.

Thanks for the other links, I'll look into it; seems like the only way forwards from here.

Blancs-Manteaux Auctions , by Matt on Jan 28, 2017 13:00:04 GMT 1, Gitans :-) Lroy knows a fair bit about Gitans. So dod' would you agree this in " une enchere de gitans" ? That's a bit below the belt. It's up to the buyer and seller to resolve the condition damage issue and I don't know whether the seller accepted a partial refund or demanded to rescind the sale? WTF are you talking about ? I am using a colloquial / argot French expression to qualify the viewing space of their current option.
I can say "enchère de forrains" next time if you prefer.
I am French I don't give a rat'a ass about PC

Blancs Manteaux Auction is pleased to let you know that after this customer changed his mind (at first he wanted to restore the artwork so we wired him 350e) now we propose him a full refund through a COD (Cash On Delivery). But at the moment no answer from him. To follow Well then, this is hardly correct is it? I have been very clear from the first moment what I wanted, and both you and I know it. Through nine emails starting from a little over noon today you for the first time said you would offer me a full refund. But you would only give a refund after I had sent it too you. As I wrote there, and as I write now, I am sceptical of this seeing as you have lied about refunds three times earlier to me and so I am almost expecting to loose the shipping money as well.
Through these nine emails I have proposed
1 - Pay me up front
2 - Payment through a professional third party
3 - Payment through a third party for instance if a forum moderator would accept the money from them, let me know that they are there and then send them to me when the print arrives at them.
All this you have said no to, and it makes me a little suspicious as you have shown previously you have little intention of refunding me.
You then asked me to check out COD payment 34 minutes ago, which I was in the progress of doing now, so I think it is a bit leading to write "no answer from him".
However, the postal services here does not provide COD options in Europe, so I am checking into DHL and other expeditures.

Blancs-Manteaux Auctions , by Deleted on Jan 28, 2017 15:19:32 GMT 1, That's a bit below the belt. It's up to the buyer and seller to resolve the condition damage issue and I don't know whether the seller accepted a partial refund or demanded to rescind the sale? I guess it's ok though for some who promote political correctness and lecture others when it comes to money to show their true colors. WTF are you talking about ? I am using a colloquial / argot French expression to qualify the viewing space of their current option. I can say "enchère de forrains" next time if you prefer. I am French I don't give a rat'a ass about PC I'm in France and don't give a rats ass about PC culture. I have had a fair amount of anti British racism down here and mainly from French admin and people who consider themselves professionals. Who wouldn't dare behave the same against so called ethnic minorities.
C'est la vie.

Blancs-Manteaux Auctions , by Deleted on Jan 28, 2017 15:21:31 GMT 1, Hello to all even the ones who have taken part of this issue with an unhappy customer but who didn't knew about the situation and have insulted us. Through these nine emails I have proposed 1 - Pay me up front 2 - Payment through a professional third party 3 - Payment through a third party for instance if a forum moderator would accept the money from them, let me know that they are there and then send them to me when the print arrives at them. All this you have said no to, and it makes me a little suspicious as you have shown previously you have little intention of refunding me. You then asked me to check out COD payment 34 minutes ago, which I was in the progress of doing now, so I think it is a bit leading to write "no answer from him". However, the postal services here does not provide COD options in Europe, so I am checking into DHL and other expeditures. alls well that ends well.
Technically if you accepted the €350 for restoration. You nullified any other obligation on the part of the sale room.
If you get a refund, then i'll say, it's all kushti Rodders.
