Banksy • Gangsta Rat Print, by Dungle on Sept 11, 2015 14:21:23 GMT 1, Yes none of you friendly flippers on here want to pay market value for pristine unframed specimens - I was being courteous letting you guys know I would only be selling on here until that date and would want offers over £6K - didn't want to waste peoples time or get slated for selling elsewhere - as know you lot have banksy hotkey on your keyboards and would follow it around like rabid rat catchers Taking advice from the pro lovely helpful knowledgeable masters like BLACK APPLE suggesting 3 weeks ago HU had one for £6K and now as they are selling for £8K - seems prices have gone north - I had a few pondering so was being thoughtful - not really all that funny is it? Didn't realise you were a gallery, sorry.

Banksy • Gangsta Rat Print, by Deleted on Sept 11, 2015 15:17:27 GMT 1, Just because HU or anyone is asking £8000 does not mean they will get it ! the market is where a print sells and in this instance that price point seems to be around the £6000 mark.
Anything north of this and you maybe waiting a while and will be dealing with numerous amounts of tyre kickers, at least on here you had solid offers from reputable collectors from what i hear.
Its your print...do what you think is right for you

Didn't realise you were a gallery, sorry. There is no need to apologise, I am not a gallery, but interestingly a very helpful gallery said:
Banksy art is unique in that prints can fetch privately what a gallery is asking and this phenomenon fuels a continual rise in value...
If you are an original owner with a mint example it seems being a gallery is not all that important, but personally would rather buy from one of the lovely galleries on here...
I am not a dealer I simply bought a print I liked 10 years ago for £95 - and now am looking for the best return to fund a meaningful project that will help many others.

There are very few mint U/S GR's in the marketplace so HU benchmark concluded dismaland may have fuelled interest and surge in value of banksy art. I understood banksy buyers to be the biggest condition-sticklers on the planet, so assumed a genuine never framed example would warrant a similar price to the benchmark I had, but do understand sale price is always negotiable.
Do you think Dismaland has/will increase interest and therefore value in banksy’s work?

Not many people sell Banksys at HU's quoted prices, not even HU themselves...

Banksy • Gangsta Rat Print, by Deleted on Sept 11, 2015 21:18:32 GMT 1, Be a nice chap Pierre, take the 6 and don't be greedy. The current £6K cash offer is from local art collector, although I was offered £6K on UAA the day after it was posted for sale. I was being open about price in case anyone on UAA wanted it who was willing to pay market value not looking for a trade price to immediately sell it on for profit. The local collector has loads of them so is not sweating on winning it. I don't understand the condescending "be a nice chap" and "don't be greedy" comments but others seem to like it. Not at all condecending, just sell the fkin thing for 6k and stop being such a greedy fkr.
Either that or auction it, its not unique its just a good condition print you muppet.

Banksy • Gangsta Rat Print, by pippyt75 on Sept 11, 2015 21:52:48 GMT 1, I really don't want to stir but I'm slightly perplexed by constant talk of this being mint. Judging by the pictures I've seen minter if I'm honest. No doubt prices will go up a little at the moment but I think 6k for this would be very fair business all round. I have zero vested interested btw!

Banksy • Gangsta Rat Print, by guest8888 on Sept 11, 2015 22:38:18 GMT 1, This post has dragged on way too long. IMO £6k is a very decent offer. Clearly the seller wants to squeeze every penny out of this, which they have every right to do. But I'd imagine this at best would go for no more than £7k on eBay (which I can't see happening), then you have to take into account you will be paying around a grand in fees to eBay and PayPal, which will leave you with about £6k. Just because HU are asking 8k doesn't mean that anyone is willing to pay them prices.

lol yes they seem to deal in all the "street pieces" that should have been left alone in the first place and that Pest Control won't touch but if you're rich enough and you want to buy the side of a building then more power to ya!

Congratulations Pierre on alienating many of your potential buyers for this print. Had I been one of those who put in an offer, I would have by now withdrawn it and suggested you roll the print up tightly and stick it where the sun don't shine.
I think this thread should probably be stickied as a great example of how not to go about selling a print.
