Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by medicjones on Jun 28, 2007 19:24:14 GMT 1, Last one on ebay went for £1556 (probably yours Im guessing!). One went at bloomsbury auctions today (unsigned) for £3024 with fees inclusive. 3-6 months ago it was £1000-1200, doesnt look you can lose money on it the way things are going. Prices are on the up across the board. Wish I had £1500 for a print J&J or Pulp Id be after! enjoy the print!

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by lesroy on Jun 30, 2007 9:52:06 GMT 1, good deal at £1500 i'd say...
Unsigned stuff is surging again...we are at the levels that we were during the last Banksy show in LA and there's not even a show on at present!
In september last year, £1000 for a Toxic Mary, £2000 for a Love is in the Air, £1200 for a Soup Can.
We are now there or even higher again after a fall in unsigned over christmas.
FLying Copper just sold for £1800 & £1500 Girl With Balloon £2300 Jack & Jill £1300
In my opinion these prices will keep rising... signed prints have tripled this year alone and this has got some very serious people into the market... the unsigned have been slow to follow but now people are realising that Signed are getting impossible to own as they are very expensive... this just leaves the unsigneds for the rest of the world!
I expect all unsigends to be well over a grand by the time the last "LA" prints have left POW towers

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by tomhills1 on Apr 15, 2007 21:06:11 GMT 1, not worth a carrot IMO nick, yes it is clearly a backdoor print but it has no "investment" value and at £1100 you have to be talking investment purposes.
a few hundred for a screenprint that was made at the same time as the main edition is a fair price for me, but it will never stand up in tha same way. i'd be happy to pay good money for a print that is equal in physicallity to the main edtion if not in monetary terms but not silly money.
begs the question, what price a straight-up queen vic?

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by semiscottishpete on Apr 15, 2007 22:45:05 GMT 1, I was surprised at how much she went for. However I couldn't have been more honest. I started the auction at 99p with no reserve and loads of pictures.
It is a very strong image, and if she is framed properly will look fantastic. I really don't think it is a great idea to start buying these prints purely as an investment
I've got a few more prints that I've relisted tonight. I had them framed and up in my study, but we're moving & I need the cash. Again 99p with no reserve.

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by Strange Al on Apr 16, 2007 17:36:14 GMT 1, Can anyone tell me if there's been a previous thread about how so many of these Back-door prints have come to be in circulation? I'm guessing there will have been much hypothesizing on the subject. If so, please can you post a link for me, I'd love to read some of the background.

neither do i, my point was at £1100 it is an investment, fact. unless you call £1100 loose change or something. my point is that in the long term that may seem like well over the odds. could equally seem like a bargain too, i'm no expert.
i wasn't digging at you pete, i think you did well, mine was just a general exasperation at how it turned out.
good luck with your other auctions, what you got? oh, and can you lend us all a tenner ;D

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by ABC on Apr 16, 2007 20:39:44 GMT 1, That is Fuc&ing mental, I can only imaging someone is buying these to put numbers or signatures on (as hinted by Beejoir). Any Banksy fan would not pay over £50 let a lone 1k for a back door print regardless. Notice Mr semi scotish has had a few of these and I bet he cant believe his good fortune with the prices these are reaching.

Interesting words Pete, but as you are currently flogging both an unumbered Laugh Now and a Turf War, supposedly bought from Greenleaf (who have never flogged backdoor prints as far as I know), seems a bit odd, that you also bought a Backdoor Laugh Now on e bay a while back from a known scammer based in birmingham (home of the backdoor printers).
From Police Aware on ebay
The seller states in the description that it was bought from the Green Leaf bookshop in Bristol, which did sell legitimate Banksy prints however this seller also bought an unsigned Laugh Now from a known backdoor print seller who funnily enough is located in Birmingham where the printers were based, this was done on ebay
...................
This is the reason why people with knowledge should maybe be given some leeway on here, over regular members, some of whom seem to be actively trying to scam Banksy fans.
Back to you Pete.

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by semiscottishpete on Apr 22, 2007 12:24:48 GMT 1, Yeah, good points all round. I've been away all week so forgive my late reply.
Bit of a moral dilema this one.
Got an email yesterday through ebay from someone explaining to me about the "Back door Brummie" aka "Poohbearfrance"
I did buy these prints from this ebay seller, she had told me they were from the bookshop in Bristol. I feel a bit of c**t right now. If you've ever had any dealings with me, you'll know (I hope) I'm a genuine bloke. So this doesn't exactly lie well with the old karma. The prints cost me a fair amount, I forget exactly how much?
I'm going to end the sales and relist them with all the relevant info.

Fair enough.. to be honest I was really surprised when your name came up as I'd always had you down as a stand up guy, and I know how long you've been around. You're not exactly a newcomer, so I could only imagine you knew what you were doing. Apology's if I was a tad harsh..It does show that it's a good idea to use both this forum and cross reference with the ebay group if in doubt. Good luck sorting this, saw that you paid out quite a few quid for them also ! end of the day, avoid anything that comes our of Birmingham IMO

You're all going to have to trust me to let the winning bidder know the score. I'll explain about the back door brummie and let them decide if they want to canel the sale we'll do a mutual didn't follow the sale through thing.
The sooner I'm rid of these prints the better.
Not happy.

Tried that already, I use a program on my mac called "isale" makes listings a tad more funky, and is vegtable proof, but you can't edit once your listing is online, you can only end the listing, edit offline & re-submit.

Banksy Queen Victoria Print, by rob123rob on May 28, 2007 23:30:57 GMT 1, Just saw a Queen Victoria Unsigned print on ebay, and the funny thing it is the same one I lost in a bidding battle a couple weeks ago. Same seller, same pics, yet someone very obviously out-bid me in the last few seconds of the last auction and won it. So, now the same person is selling it again. Maybe the last "winner" didn't pay, or maybe it's just going to keep on getting listed until it finally reaches the jackpot the seller is waiting for.
