The Hirst editions were significantly more expensive and still sold thousands. These are very affordable. The Peckham Rock postcards were an anomaly and I don’t think comparable at all.

I think this is and will be the new normal for some time, with interest rates globally held so low, people are seeking alternative investments more than ever and will be for some time I would guess!

Lesson learned with the Hirst Virtues drop. I had a set carted and instead only got one because of the naysayers here. Never again.

Got one. Still not sure if I like it that much (yet), but maybe and hopefully it will grow on me. Felt the same way about the Hirst heart/butterfly release and now kicking myself for not buying that one as I quite like the butterfly piece. I really like what circa art is doing and I think it is great they release the works in this affordable and no stress way.

Have to watch the video one of these nights. Anyone watch it last night?

Thanks very much for sharing. I really love Hockney’s life philosophy and iPad art in particular. If anyone hasn’t seen it I totally recommend Bruno Wollheim's film ‘David Hockney: A Bigger Picture’ from 2010. There are some good outtakes on YouTube too.

Will apply my usual, reliable strategy:

- I like the piece but don't pull the trigger as the walls are full
- Still, I add it to the reading list. You never know...
- Return to page and cart it a couple of times but still do not check out
- Check the walls again, but no miracle has happened and they are still the same size and full
- Forget about it
- Remember it after deadline and get angry for not pulling the trigger
- Ignore the thread on here when people start announcing the arrival of there lovely works ( 'Pics don't do justice, they are really amazing in the flesh' )
- Casually browse ebay and insult all the flippers on there

It feels like he's saying that since humans naturally cannot focus on the idea of our own death for very long, we're innately optimistic. So even with the state of the world as it is, we can still be hopeful for a brighter day.
