Robert Del Naja π¬π§ 3D β’ Street Artist β’ Massive Attack , by bonesy on Mar 25, 2008 20:40:41 GMT 1, Im assuming Im in the minority, but........ This is BS. The SG pieces were sold as an edition size of 25, not 25 plus 10 hand finished. Just like replacing damaged prints with the same numbered print and having unnumbered unlabeled prints laying around their office, this is another example of these guys having no integrity in terms of the print run. They printed 25 and numbered them, done deal- edition should be closed. Not 4 months later start up the printing presses (I realize its a giclee) and run out another 10 to be handfinished.

So, they can keep on making more and more money as long as people will buy them. I think they should make the next set an edition of 500 unsigned for about Β£75. Doesn't take too much work for them. That way, more people can have them on their walls.

Im fine with there being large print runs but by pressing "print" after the edition size has been determined and sold they are breaking the law, hand embellished or not.

How dare they replace damaged prints! Burn the witches!
Ive brought this topic up many times and stand alone. The integrityof the print run should be first and foremost. If they want to replace prints that they damage by crappy packaging then they should put some aside. Once a print edition is numbered that should be it. They print up extras and leave them laying around the office in case some get damaged in shipping. There was one cat on here that had a damaged print replaced 8 months after the original purchase that he had damaged after receiving it, WTF is that about? And folks wonder why there are so many Banksy back door prints........ This followed by them now "extending" the 3D run of 25 prints shows their complete disregard for print runs and any integrity that most printing houses have.

Bought the Lister book a while ago from Monster children gallery. Supposedly a hand numbered ed of 100. What I got was a photocopy of this, no number. They couldnt understand why I returned it and told them they were unprofessional, esp as it was only $15.
I guess you market it, sorry call it a varied edition of 10 that are all hand finished orignals! Far more desirable than those common old prints from a run of 25
The print class system is alive and well

Add this to my complaint list also. I guess Laz is printing up more of these prints with a Blue background as well. So its not 25 prints. Its not 25 prints PLUS 10 hand embellished. It is (for now) 25 RED prints, 10 RED hand embellished prints, and an unknown number of BLUE prints.

And price the "new 10" at the market value of the original 25 so anyone that was thinking about buying one of the 25 will surely shell out the money to us for one these super-duper edition of 10. As a consequence the edition of 25 that was worth $900 will now be worth $600, but who gives a sh*t.

Robert Del Naja π¬π§ 3D β’ Street Artist β’ Massive Attack , by Heavyconsumer on Mar 25, 2008 22:35:47 GMT 1, I agree. It shows utter discontempt for the SG buyers of 3D's prints. In this case, most of those were flippers as proven by ebay action in recent months. So the collectors that have been prepared to "support" the artist by snapping these up at a higher premium 2nd hand are being totally screwed!
I'm very surprisedby this. The only fair answer is to sort out some new and original work for later releases rather than recycling older runs. They were free to choose the original edition size and price. They should not consider themselves free to now extend and devalue those original editions.

I ask purely out of interest as I didn't know about the HF version of that until it was sold out and I already had a standard version (which I prefer I'd add).
