Banksy Print, Canvas, WANTED

I was offered this print three times in the past week.

- One person was someone with 3 posts that just asked 'what u offer'. Didn't even know what that person was talking about at first.
- The second person was someone with a gallery account that said 'i dont really want to sell my print (lol?) but make a really good offer'.
- The last person basically did the same as person #1, took 3 days after that to tell me it's 'mint' and after me having to ask all the standard questions in no less than 6 PM's still won't name an asking price.

So is there anyone out there that actually wants to sell this print and has a price in mind?

I'm looking for 'Silver Flags' by Banksy and I'm aware that lots of forumees are currently searching as well. It must be "mint" and although I'm from Germany I'd think about coming to GB for a face to face deal if necessary. I've to add that this request is not for me but for a family member who wants to start a collection. Any help regarding price and availability is much appreciated.

What's the general consensus on price for a signed barcode?
I hope you don't mind me asking as you said you were no longer searching for one, however I'm in the market for one dependant on what they are reaching at the moment. Is it around £20k?

I bought one 6 weeks ago and found that without red stamp they were between 8-8.5 and with red stamp they we actually slowly inching towards 9, certainly over 8.5 for the ones I was offered

It's amazing when you finally have the money to buy the print you always wanted, how many people (actually in this case Galleries) are willing to mess you around, I mean, I am a straight up, cash in hand buyer, yet the whole Banksy thing seems to bring out the worst in some..feeling despondent..

Looks like Hang Up pictures have one, I know they will take your money and won't mess you around if your willing to pay the going rate, they are usually pretty bang on when it comes to pricing.

First time i think i have heard that Hang Up were bang on with prices. I generally think they are expensive even for a gallery. That said, they sell a lot of prints, just not to me, so what do i know

Biggest issue I have had is being told it's 'Mint' (Fierce/Dare 1 example) and then it's float framed, not willing to unframe it to allow to look, so how is it mint? I'm getting tired of these galleries touting their framed prints expecting you to buy them on their say so and then saying too expensive to unframe quote: that makes the potential deal a no goer!

Sounds frustrating, It appears your looking for a never framed print, much harder to come by and I would think you would pay a big premium to pry one loose that someone has sitting in a flat file for 10 years. I'm sure there are collectors out there that have one and would be willing to sell it for the right price.

I'm sure galleries are reluctant to unframe a print if they don't have a prior relationship with you, obviously its going to cost them money to reframe if you ultimately choose not to buy it.

Maybe put up another Wanted ad and state, that no framed prints can apply. I'm a condition nut and understand what you are looking for.

If is float you can see the conditions, print will have tape on the bag but you see full print and condition!

I want a good condition print, for sure. But I am unsure how it can be touted as 'Mint' when it's framed and not willing to unframe it even after getting a quote to do so (£750 +vat allegedly) and if it was fine, I would obviously buy it....just frustrating. Would you spend that money on something that you can only see the front face? Or is it me?

The advantage of floated prints is that you can see that there is no bleach mark where a mount has been.

But you are right to want to satisfy yourself that the print is of a condition that you are happy with. Might mean it takes longer to find one though.

Nearly a grand to unframe a print! Cripes!!
I'm certain it can be done for less than that. A lot less.
