Art Auction Result Providers, by chichi carter on Apr 2, 2021 12:30:32 GMT 1, Opening old wounds to rub salt into them I see. After collecting for a while you inevitably end up with a bag full of those types of story. Plenty of 'bad' decisions are to be made in a lifetime. Was it really a bad decision though? The reason you didn't make the purchase in the first place is most likely because you couldn't afford it. So you made the right decision really. Comparing what it was worth then versus now is not going to change that fact. Do you have a roof over your head, running water and electricity? I've got some good news for you: you are filthy rich! It's like William DeVaughn said (as did Massive Attack), just be thankful for what you've got...

Art Auction Result Providers, by Charlie Bronson on Apr 14, 2021 6:14:59 GMT 1, Its not a negative thread, s**t happens because none of us are mediums. I sold 400 bitcoins for 800$ a piece end of 2015, thought I was a genius since had bought them at 23$ each and made 40 times my money I'd be 24M$ richer now
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Damn, man. That’s insane. I’ve always had a grudge that I missed out on the BTC craze. That being said, if I mined or even bought on the cheap, I can’t see myself having hung onto them once they hit a decent amount; if I paid 10 cents and they reached something like $50, I’m pretty sure I would’ve cashed out. Back in the day I can’t imagine many thought they’d reach their current value. Doing the math, that’s a nice pay day you had there. Must’ve been a proud moment.

Art Auction Result Providers, by Lroy on Apr 14, 2021 6:46:07 GMT 1, Just checked my Arsty bid history from last year. Missed out on Bomb Hugger & Versaille - given the price they went for, i may have been £50K better off if I had bigger balls. (NB: Aware that the prices could have kept going up if i stayed in.)
There are not anymore regrets to have at all, to have been outbid. Before, it was not the same, ebayers did not already put automatic biddgins whith high prices ! Now they put already 500,1 k or more on an item, so how can you win the bidding ?! It's like bots and thoses still trying F5ing... I have had regrets, not anymore now..
And some sellers are not what we think sometimes ( as buyers anyway ) ... Much trouble thant joy... To finish , since this vat thing, I did not buy anymore on ebay ( as they automatically include VAT - waht do they deal with customs lol ?! - )... I sold a book the other day, I was happy fot the buyer ( nice and fair price for both, around 50 quid, and this " poor " guy has to pay at the end 75 £ because of vat ( 17 for a 50 £ book, Ebay does not care if it's books or socks we are selling... )
Since Covid ( more controls, slow shipping, dispute coz people can't wait ) , Brexit, a lot of things has changed and will change again, so, I him like him now...
